Colored denim, printed denim, coated denim… all of these are exciting and coveted developments in the ever-expanding choices the denim industry has to offer as of late. But one trend we’re all over? Gradient jeans. Also called ombre, they provide 2-in-1 color that fades in a chic and subtle way from the hip to the ankle. Style blogger Coline shows off her black-to-grey pair with some a beanie and black ankle boots. Rock on!

This has been quite a week for cuffed jeans, because Rachel Bilson was spotted rocking a pair of Goldsign Jenny Selvage jeans in Debut Wash twice this week, while in New York City. These are high-rise jeans with a bit of whiskering and hand finishing touches for that worn in look. The Jenny Selvage jeans are a cropped cuff jean, which is perfect for Rachel’s petite 5’2″ frame. DT’s Sarah went to the Radiohead concert in New Jersey last night and she couldn’t help but notice that, while this is one of the world’s most successful rock ‘n’ roll bands, every member was wearing jeans. And not just any jeans, faded black jeans. So, Sarah got I thinking: does Thom Yorke know that there are companies like Denim Therapy out there, who will take faded jeans and make them look brand new again? Did YOU know? Because we do! It’s so easy. Just visit the Denim Therapy website, fill out the form, pick your color, and badabing-badaboom! Your jeans are the deepest blue or darkest black again. Rock on!

If you’re just getting out of your winter funk and easing into your spring wardrobe, thanks to the fair weather lately, perhaps you can take cues from Denim & Supply‘s Spring 2012 offerings of lightweight denim and chambray pieces that will go well with your go-to tee shirts or everyday jeans. In the women’s collection, the Ralph Lauren heritage really shines through in the hues and the easy jeans silhouettes. For the men’s collection, the notable statement denim are the denim jackets. Cut a bit boxier in faded washes, the jeans jackets are the hassle-free layering companions. The entire range is anchored by the softness that its vintage treatments offer; a classic way to wear spring fashions in an effortless looking way.

For Fall 2011, Current/Elliott has reintroduced a line of jeans for men along with the brand’s successful womens jeans collection. As the brand made its name with its wildly popular Boyfriend and Bell Bottom jean fits, those silhouettes are not going away anytime soon. And to follow suit, the men’s denim also has a few baggy jeans and a railroad striped jean of its own to complement the women’s jeans collection. Unlike the men’s Fall 2011 lookbook, which takes place outdoors in natural surroundings (reminiscent of the first women’s lookbook), the Fall women’s lookbook is set inside a theatre in which the models are styled with various Edwardian-era capes, wraps and top hats. Perhaps the stylist may have taken some liberties from the pages of a Steampunk fashion book, but we do love Current/Elliott’s ability to inspire us through its storytelling mix of modern jeans set against a semi-period backdrop.
