Yohji Yamamoto x Edwin Denim = Yohji Jeans

Yohji Yamamoto and Edwin Denim, two darlings of the fashion and denim worlds hailing from Japan, have collaborated to bring you Yohji Jeans. Unlike what you may have seen online called Yohji Yamamoto Jeans, this partnership between these coveted Japanese labels offers something more Edwin-centric, if you will. Besides the standard raw indigo jeans, a you’ll also find natural colored jeans, expressing a Yamamoto philosophy of a rebirth in its debut “Naked” collection. We think Yamamoto, a progressive visionary fashion designer, will reign in the stragglers who have resisted the lure of premium denim as a style staple.

Edwin Jeans Shows Us How to Have the Best Summer Ever

How would you describe your best summer ever? Getting your boots and Edwin Jeans muddy during a week-long ride with complete strangers? Edwin Europe has made a case for creating a memorable experience in their Spring-Summer 2012 lookbook. Edwin words their “social experiment” poignantly: “the true spirit of Edwin jeans is created but the person living in them, making everyday count with yesterday’s memories etched into the rich indigo fabric and in the knowledge that tomorrow’s good times are still to be created.” The riders were outfitted in Edwin apparel and denim,: including black chambray shirts, ED-71 Red Listed selvage and ED-71 Rainbow Listed selvage jeans, and a covetable RV selvage denim jacket.

Summer Video Series: Edwin Jeans Just Wants You to Ride Your Motorcycle

If you had a chance to ride through Europe with your posse, wouldn’t you be wearing your Edwin Jeans, with the hem upturned to reveal your selvedge pride? And, if you do happen to wear double denim or get your boots muddy, who cares. With “The Motorcycle Song” by Arlo Guthrie serving as the road trip’s soundtrack, the group of riders includes a young lady who is enjoying the trip equally as much as the rest of the guys. Produced by Edwin Europe’s creative team and directed by Benjamin Robinson.
