Guess is known for its sexier take on denim and they’re certainly turning up the heat for fall/winter 2012. For women, they’ve styled skinny jeans with luxe coats, collared shirts (even if they’re sometimes, um, see-through), bold take-charge heels, and chunky gold accessories. The message they’re sending men? Turn down the glam, turn up the campy rugged edge with fisherman’s sweaters, dusty boots, and suspenders. But we still think that is sexy, FYI.

Tatted up model Lewis Grant adds a new dimension to the urban cowboy in Takeshy Kurosawa‘s Spring-Summer 2012 campaign entitled, “White Trash & Used Denim.” This playful campaign puts a fun spin on Kurosawa’s Western style shirts, distressed jeans and other vintage washed denim offerings. The entire collection seems to be a bit of a throwback, from tapered jeans-like silhouettes to cuffed denim bermuda shorts.

Think you’ve had enough of all the crazy denim trends this year? We think clothing brand CLOSED will provide some relief with their range of wearable denim from top to bottom. Maintaining a bit of color in its range of jeans, cotton pants and separates, you’ll feel like you could invest in a couple of solid items that will stretch out your wear longer than the seasons. Closed is also one of the few denim brands currently offering denim capris—a perfect cut for ladies who want to show off their new favorite booties. We’re also digging the sartorial touches in the men’s collection. Check out the gallery below for all the Fall-Winter 2012 looks.

We found a few Japanese fashion labels that seem to share their own idea of what spring and summer should be about. And boy, are the perspectives different! First, Christian Dada suggests writing poetry and spending late nights out with your punk attitude in check, and don’t mind the occasional snags caused by your spiked denim jacket. On a lighter note, Labrat reminds us of California summers out by Venice Beach where Hipsters and Hippies both hang in their vintage jeans and cut-offs; and finally, Revionnet wants us to think of simpler times while sporting “little girl dresses” or relaxed denim shirts made completely in denim. We sense Alexa Chung may have played a role as a muse in the girly feel of this collection.

You might have seen CLOSED‘s new website and behind-the-scenes video in yesterday’s Denim Dose, but we couldn’t resist posting these mouthwatering images from the denim line’s print campaign as well. Snapped in the Mojave Desert by Max Farago, these photos feature creatives like singer/songwriter Ry Cumming and French-born DJ Rachel Pouillat instead of models. Their chill spirit is reflected in the collection’s refreshing acid-hued skinnies juxtaposed with dusty chambray tunics and denim trousers, with plenty of options for both men and women. Set against Twentynine Palms’s gorgeous poolside cerulean blues and desert brush, their message becomes pretty clear: why not soak up SoCal in style?

Models always look perfectly casual and gorgeous in their beauty shots, but New York Models’ New Faces Division’s give us another reason to be jealous–the denim! All seven models are decked out (or wrapped up) in denim vests, shirts, jackets, and jeans. Paired with artfully-mussed hair and minimal makeup, this combination creates a clean, fresh look that is simply striking.

This winter, Notify Jeans wants to keep you covered in denim the French way. Designer Maurice Ohayon, who made his way through Ungaro, Vanessa Bruno, Stella McCartney (with whom he created a capsule collection of jeans) and K Karl Lagerfeld (where he was Artistic Director), founded Notify, incorporating his love of art, design and desire to mix classic sartorial handcrafts with modern innovation. Made in Italy, Ohayon does not sacrifice much in terms of creating luxurious jeans. For Fall-Winter 2011, coated purple jeans, elegant trouser fit silhouettes and the trademark Notify front pocket panel top-stitching promises not to disappoint its legions of fans in Europe and abroad.
