As the ice melts away and we greet spring (with huge, huge smiles, obviously), we’re all facing our closets with similar questions. It’s no easy task dressing for the in-between seasons, when it’s not warm enough to go bare legs, but not cold enough to wrap up in layers. Here’s one tip on pairing your favorites from both season into one great look, care of style blog Swellmayde, featured below.

We love a good throw-back, especially when it provides us with amazing style inspiration. eat, sleep denim totally gets it, and they recently hailed Blondie’s Debbie Harry as a vintage denim style icon. One look at these high waisted pink jeans and classic denim jacket, and you’ll surely agree. There are a host of good pics to gawk at, in case you need a reminder that denim will always be the coolest textile ever. P.S., can we have these pink frames too?

Alessandra Ambrosio was recently seeing strolling through LA wearing a gorgeous front-slit floral skirt and a Bella Dahl Denim Bomber Jacket in “River” wash. We love the combination of a chambray jacket and a flowing, summery skirt. Some metallic arm candy and simple flat sandals round out the casual daytime look. You could also layer a swimsuit beneath rather than a tank, for a transitional daytime to beach look. What can we say? We’ve got summer fun on the brain.

Our favorite shoot from the latest CR Fashion Book is this one, featuring Sibui Nazarenko photographed by Billy Kidd. Can you guess why? The denim layering is dead-on for fall 2014, utilizing classic denim jackets (the kind everyone has in their closet) alongside cozy knits and cold-weather favorites. We might be summer-dreaming right now, but we’re already soaking up inspiration for fall.

3.1 Phillip Lim took tailored denim to a whole new level with a new capsule collection of denim separates. The set includes cropped jackets, tailored blazers, ankle-length pants, and a smart-looking denim pencil skirt to name a few. The styles are 12 in total and range from $195 to $895. The style of the shoot lets the denim shine in full, with the model’s face obscured by shades, cropped out, or turned away from the lens. For us, this is a refreshing return to what matters: our favorite textile.
