When you first start seeing someone, it can be super-hard to decide what to wear on your dates. Clothes make a big impression, and even if you’ve been dating your boo for a while, you can still get stuck in the trap of wearing the same outfit over and over again. Never fear! We’ve come up with four denim looks perfect for any date occasion, from a glam night on the town to a casual Sunday brunch. Check out our outfits below, each of which center on a different denim piece. Denim dress, denim shirt, denim jacket, and jeans? Yep, they’re all there.
As we are making our way into spring, denim dresses are a must have. Luckily some of our favorite brands are revamping the retro look in their latest collections. Paired with a wedged heel and a cardigan for a night out or a low bootie during the day, the versatility of this piece is endless. Here are some of our favorites for you to try out and give a twirl.

We found a few Japanese fashion labels that seem to share their own idea of what spring and summer should be about. And boy, are the perspectives different! First, Christian Dada suggests writing poetry and spending late nights out with your punk attitude in check, and don’t mind the occasional snags caused by your spiked denim jacket. On a lighter note, Labrat reminds us of California summers out by Venice Beach where Hipsters and Hippies both hang in their vintage jeans and cut–offs; and finally, Revionnet wants us to think of simpler times while sporting “little girl dresses” or relaxed denim shirts made completely in denim. We sense Alexa Chung may have played a role as a muse in the girly feel of this collection.

There’s no way around it: Karlie Kloss is très adorable and we just can’t get enough, especially when she’s rocking denim. The seasoned model stars in the January 2012 Free People catalog, and we’re absolutely obsessed with the outfits she’s wearing whilst roaming the streets of New York City with pretzel, hot dog, and MetroCard in tow. Why? It’s a simple equation. Denim vests, chambray pinafore dresses, polished dark-wash shorts, and a gorgeous model, awash in the glow of one of the greatest cities in the world–what’s not to love?

Sitting on a plane for hours at a time might seem like the antithesis of denim dressing, but your denim options aren’t limited to your oh-so-cute but oh-so-tight, no-stretch selvedge skinny jeans. Switch up your routine and try a denim dress the next time you’re up in the air. Seriously underrated as optimal travel wear, you’ll be sitting cute and comfortable as long as you find a frock that’s loose enough to allow for movement–nothing stiff, starchy, or overly-structured. Shirt dresses and stretchy, sleeveless dresses fit the bill perfectly and encourage layering (a traveler’s BFF!), while allowing you to swiftly navigate the airport sans-snags. Any kind of snuggly, oversize cardigan is a safe and cozy complement, especially when paired with a thick scarf, which can double as a neck pillow when you’re sleeping on-board. Add a chic pair of flat, low-cut boots that you can easily slip on and off your feet and some thick tights or leggings and you’ll be ready for take-off in style!

It’s been a long time since we’ve stumbled upon such a highly conceptual collection as this one by design duo Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida of Marques Almeida. The debut denim-heavy collection has some pretty amazing looks ranging from oversized boxy denim dresses to over-the-top denim coats all shredded and disheveled to the max. Though it’s definitely not the most wearable we can’t deny how much we’re totally digging the overall post apocalyptic idea of it all. This definitely sets the tone for the label and puts them on our list of designer’s to watch.
