Rumi Neely of fashiontoast, is a street style blogger we can’t stop stalking. This week Rumi shows us how to dress up a double denim look. It’s true you can never go wrong with a pair of Ksubi cut off shorts, but the added denim blazer just pours on the elegance. What do you pair your denim blazer with?

The Fall 2011 Mens Collection from the Italian brand JFour has all the clothes you need for an edgy, but put together look. The denim is not limited to just their jeans, but a rich dark-wash chambray workshirt, and a great denim blazer that can casually dress up any outfit. Their long-sleeve knits portray Native American imagery, which is a definitely change from the usual print interpretation we see of this trend, but the graphics can be a bit loud. The jeans range from light to dark washes, so it is super easy to pair them with one of the work shirts or the blazer and rock the denim on denim look without matching too much. Next time we’re overseas, we know right where we’re headed.

The Artisan de Luxe Men’s Spring/Summer 2012 Collection has a ton of staple items, but with a twist. By adding contrasting denim, red leather, and fabric patches to white tees and cargo pants, we have great options that can easily be paired with a classic dark-wash jean, just as they show in the lookbook. We also really like how they offer distressed and ripped denim, as well as a variety of washes from light to dark. The real stand out piece for us though is the distressed denim blazer—a modern twist on the common jean jacket. This line is definitely not for the guy that wants to play it safe, but after all, where is the fun in that? Find it at the Artisan de Luxe online shop in the coming months.

They are lightweight enough to not have you traveling in a sweat and are such an easy piece to layer with. Why we really love them though is because no matter what kind of look you personally like to go for, denim is the one thing that always remains stylish and functional! For any of those who had a doubt in their mind whether or not denim was going to be sticking around for yet another season we hate to say it, but we totally told you so. From denim jackets and blazers to jeans the big blue makes a mark on most every single note-worthy collection, though not always in its signature color. Print is a huge trend for the spring summer 2012 season and designer Paul Smith totally rocks it out modernizing the classic Levi’s denim jacket with abstract prints in electric jewel tones. As for Viktor & Rolf, multi-stripe denim separates add some dimension to the overall muted color palette of the 70s inspired collection. Likewise, denim jackets made a mark in a retro 70s vibe in Burberry Prorsum‘s ethic print-heavy lineup.

Though it’s definitely not the driving force that it has been in past seasons, denim is still a strong force on the runways lending itself as a grounding element to most collections including Acne, who we have to say had some killer denim accessories. Definitely not going anywhere!

There’s no fighting it: Brazil is continuously churning out those future supermodels, and one that has flown under the radar is the svelte but curvy Guisela Rhein. Already a seasoned catwalker (she’s walked for tons of top couture labels like Alberta Ferretti, Hussein Chalayan and Preen), Mavi Jeans took notice and hired her to rock their denim collection.
Featured in this Turkish commercial (below), co-starring Turkey’s answer to Brad Pitt, Kivan? Tatlitu?, Guisela and Kivan? compare notes about what they’re wearing for their date: she sports a pair of Mavi denim shorts, cuffed, which is paired with an on-trend long blue denim blazer; he also wears a double denim combo. We really don’t care what they are talking about, actually. We just know Guisela looks hot. Check out the video to see if you want to rock her look.
