d.brand sent over a preview of their fall 2012 line (which we previewed up-close in the showroom recently), featuring desaturated, autumnal tones and some biker-esque looks for both sexes. Dark wash jeans, roughed-up textures, and rich colors like golden-mustard yellow and forest green are among the looks we adore. We went nuts over these yellow jeans already (which they offer for both men and women), but this lookbook preview really showcases sportswear they’re amping up: puff jackets, faux-fur collared bombers, cozy over-sized sweaters, and printed sweatshirts.

Our buddies at d.brand opened up the showroom Thursday night for a vodka & candy (and denim) party to celebrate the unveiling of their fall 2012 line. As editors, bloggers, models, and photographers mingled they munched authentic Swedish candy from Sockerbit and browsed the brand new jeans, jackets, and sportswear for men & women. New Year, New Jeans! That’s what we thought while we were browsing our closets this morning, wondering what we should wear on the first official work day of 2012. Our blog editor MC chose a pair of d.brand acid wash skinny jeans—her favorite pair of the moment. Below, she reveals a more detailed explanation of why she wants to wear them all week.
What was your first thought when you tried them on? My first thought was, these look awesome with everything in my closet, and I am probably going to wear them all week.
Where/when would you wear these? I wore them to the d.brand x DT party we had before Xmas, and got so many compliments on pairing them with this navy sheer lace top. Today I’m going to wear them to run errands and they’re comfortable enough to hang out doing work in. They’re definitely not pajamas though—they’re stiffer than a spandex-blend jean.
How’s the fit? I wouldn’t mind a slightly higher waist, but nothing is hanging out, so we’re good to go. I think they make my legs look thinner despite the light wash.

Guests browsed the racks fresh sportswear and denim for men and women, calling out colored skinnies and versatile knits as must-have’s for this coming season. The party also celebrated the launch of IDOLL Magazine‘s latest issue—a publication inspired by the modeling industry as seen from the inside. Check out our party pics below.
