Is it just us, or are we sensing some mega ’90s wardrobe flashback on the rise? British pop star Eliza Doolittle is wearing what might as well be a cast member’s closet picks from My So-Called Life. Her adorable cropped sweater and short-short Hudson Jean cut-offs are the perfect formula. Just add a skateboard and a boyfriend who sings in a grunge band. The singer rocked her “Venice” cuffed shorts out and about in London twice this month (once in an outfit that was too ugly to post—sorry Eliza! No hating here, just complete fashion honesty). Rock this look for back to campus and you’re sure to turn some heads!

Amanda Seyfried was spotted on Third Street walking her dog wearing Joe’s Jeans denim shorts. We’re digging the summer-to-fall red cardigan and shoe combo! This is a refreshing coordination of bold color that many choose to steer clear of. Clearly she has the confidence to pull it off, even while taking her pooch for a stroll. Her boyfriend shorts have a bit of fraying at the hem which she cuffed up for an edgy look, all complemented by the studs that are inconspicuously placed around the pockets. Try this look for yourself by wearing a pair of bright colored sandals and coordinating it with a loose knit!

Swedish model & blogger Karin Bylund shows us a different way to rock acid wash shorts this summer—rather than frayed edges or a small cuff, she folds up her denim for a mega-cuff that creates a slimming effect on the legs (not that she needs it, but some of us do!) and a bit of a different, dramatic approach to summer dressing. We’re digging the wash, too.

When our DT bloggers took the Brooklyn streets in Buffalo David Bitton Jeans recently, they found two things: the bi-polar weather requires a cardigan back-up plan, and wearing Buffalo shorts makes it way easier to catch a cab. Editorial intern Ashlee rocked a pair of cuffed, dark-wash semi-bleached out Jackson short with an ethnic-print red knit tank and turquoise bead-rope necklace.
Here’s what she had to say about the experience:
“After sashaying my hips in these Buffalo Denim Bermuda Shorts it was love at first sight (and fit). The vintage wash was perfect with my crop top and the cut contoured to my curves, while also making my petite frame, in particular (my short legs) look a mile long. They were soft yet durable, keeping up with me on an eight hour day of running errands without losing snugness. he denim, lasted throughout an 8hr day of running errands, without losing snugness. This was a match made in heaven, I must say!”
Check out Ashlee rocking her shorts below, and stay tuned… the DT bloggers have more summer denim excursions to share…
