Prepare to brave transitional weather by repurposing your denim shirts as denim jackets. For a longer, tunic-length denim shirt, just wear it like you would a jacket–slung open. Then throw your shirt over your shoulders for a casual look that’s great for dressing down a fancier going-out look. Or purposefully pick a smaller denim shirt (thrift stores are great for these), and wear as a cropped jacket with your summer dresses.

If you’ve been with us for at least a minute you know that we absolutely love anything that screams 90s. And this outfit by one of our favorite fashion bloggers, Laura Allard-Fleishchl of Ponyhunter, has us screaming all the way back to freshman year of high school. Her front tie cropped denim shirt, high-waisted vintage floral skirt, and mid-thigh lace bike shorts combo is the epitome of a great modern take on a 90s look. Want to transition this outfit into evening? Just add a leather biker jacket and trade in the sandals for a pair of boots.
