Let it be said that for a brand based in the U.K., Marshall Artist channels Americana cool pretty well. The young British menswear line first caught our eye at PROJECT NY, and their spring 2012 collection is definitely worth a closer look–if you don’t check out the details, you will miss out. From afar, their range of utilitarian pieces look like the story of when L.L. Bean met J. Crew, but we’re really celebrating the details that make these chambray jackets, selvedge denim, and fishermen sweaters distinctly stylish, yet fully functional in sportier environs. For instance, let’s all drool over the fact that many of their naval- and military-inspired chambray jackets are waterproof. Denim in the rain? Yeah, we can totally get behind that.

Guys, if you were in search of an outfit that is more or less the physical embodiment of a summer vacation, we’ve got your inspiration right here. Bobby from Toronto has the right idea with his spectrum of pastel separates, including pastel pink jeans, a minty green unbuttoned top, and a butter-yellow v-neck t-shirt (with palm trees spelling out “LOVE”, no less). The red hat is the perfect touch—it prevents the outfit from looking too much like dessert. Bobby also dressed up his look with round retro sunglasses and a bracelet that looks like a piano. We haven’t seen an outfit this fun in a while! A+!
