Meet Ilva. She’s a pretty cool gal. Aside from being a skateboarding champ (we’ve seen her navigate Bushwick streets after 3AM, whizzing in and out of trucks, both parked and mobile), and the most stylish Latvian in town, she has a band named after her! But when she dropped by our blog editor’s apartment in her awesome BCBG MAX Azria jeans recently, skateboard in hand, we demanded she stay for a quick photo shoot.
The paneled denim contours down the thigh to create very cool seamline that splits at the knee. We love how this adds texture without the superfluous appearance of appliqu?s or pre-meditated tears (because while we love those too, they’re not for every look). Ilva wore her jeans with a striped ruffled blouse—a surprisingly sweet twist to her too-cool-for-school look. And the best part? She says it’s an easy ensemble to skate in.
Thanks, Ilva!
