We dropped in the American Eagle & Aerie fall 2013 preview yesterday for a pastry and some AM fashion-gazing. The ever-expanding line has amp’d up selection in both the men’s and women’s departments. We were especially delighted to see a carefully played bohemian influence in the styling of chic denim separates, flirty scarves, and gorgeous jewelry. This season we’re loving the returning Artist fit jean for women who want to edge towards flare leg while keeping it chic. Check out the full preview below!

Festival season is upon us! That means it’s time to stuff your leather fringe bag full of camping-essentials, pile on the arm candy, and pick out a pair of denim cut-off shorts to wear as your summer 2013 uniform. Festival style means carefree and edgy, and Guess has a capsule collection that takes care of those elements nicely. Aptly named The Festival Collection, we had a sneak peek at this collection last November. Rocker tees, free-spirited accessories, and lots of destroyed denim in the mix. Ashley Tisdale stepped out in Minkpink Slasher Flick Shorts recently, sporting a boho look that makes us long for summer, short-shorts sans-tights, and breezy jackets. She paired the destroyed denim with a sequined top and beige mid-calf rise boots, along with the “celeb in hiding” uniform: oversized sunglasses and a beanie hat.

We told you about this exciting collaboration between MiH Jeans and ShopBop in Denim Dose this morning, and now we’ve got the lookbook. This resort 2012 collection, inspired by 1970s Morocco, is denim through a jet-set lens. The daywear separates have soft silhouettes and light earthy colors, while the denim is frayed and features saturated, colorful embroidery that turn the whole set into a bohemian dream. Whether you’re planning to jump on a plane and escape this winter (or just wear some luxe jeans around the house), you’ll want to browse this gorgeous line for yourself.
The collection retails from $187 for the Marrakesh Short to $238 for the tie-front collarless Francoise Shirt. Other items include the classic Marrakesh mid-rise kick flare for $205, the Cap Ferret denim tunic for $229, A sheer Oversized shirt for $205 and cropped flare Monaco jean for $194.

From what we saw while previewing the Blank NYC spring 2012 line, the brand intends to keep it rock’n'roll with destroyed denim (we loved their super-short white shredded cut-offs) and even some whimsical, skull-shaped studs. They showed us a pair of black jeans with destroyed back pockets and ghastly little faces partially lining the contour (the missing studs are intentional and create the look of worn-in-beat-up). The cut-offs were adorned with boho belts, and in a more preppy turn of aesthetics, pastel denim was abound. Two picks we adored were the pastel denim pencil skirts. They also showed classics like basic washes in your standard styles and a covetable denim workshirt.

While some of us relish in making snow angels and hurling icy handfuls of slush at our friends all winter long, many of us will be setting sail for a warmer climate once the New York winter sets in full force. If you’re one such lucky lady, you’ll be happy to know there’s one brand that has all of your holiday & resortwear dressing needs on tap—New York based Charley 5.0. If you’ve read our previous reviews on this line, you know there’s more to their game than jeans. They specialize in innovative ways to work denim and chambray into the wardrobe with fashion-forward styling in mind.
Underlined by a rich selection of colored skinny jeans, denim shorts, and chambray fashion separates, you can sink your teeth into the urban bohemian goddess look far sooner than summer heat waves creep up on the weather map. Check out these seven fierce looks below that will compliment any warm weather vacation you’re planning in the coming months.
Look 1. Boho babe.
This Tencel Denim Tie Front Blouse is an easy-on, easy-off compliment to the gorgeous Washed Silk Long Tank Dress in Aztec Print. The outfit is topped off with a floppy hat and wooden beaded necklaces for some serious boho flare. Put this outfit on, and you’re practically on vacation already.
Look 2. Beach bum.
The “The Long & the Short of It” denim deep v-neck top in “Cool Blue” says you’re ready to have some fun on the beach (or wherever the winds take you), and these Salt Women’s Premium Denim Cut-Off Shorts in Blush add a bit of flirty fun to the mix. The oversized pendant and sunnies lend an aura of laid back worldliness (and let’s face it, that’s what the stylish strive for, even when they’re taking a break from the world).
Look 3. Margarita!
If you’re looking for something with overt feminine appeal, the Washed Silk Button-Down Blouse in Golden Leopard Print is a promising pick, and the Salt Women’s Premium Denim Cut-Off Shorts in Lime are just the squeeze of citrus you need to take this fresh look from day to night in a snap.
Look 4. Tribal Beats.
Matching the first look in terms of bohemian flare, yet far more of the “I’m a professional vacationer and I will never go back to the office for the rest of my life” persuasion, the Washed Silk Fly Away Tank in Aztec Print is the ideal match for our favorite piece: the Tencel Denim Hippie Skirt in Faded Sky.
Look 5. Wild one.
A gorgeous, whimsical Washed Silk Basic Tee Shirt in Butterfly Jungle Print looks awesome against contrast Salt Women’s Premium Denim Skinny Jeans in cobalt blue. The navy wooden beaded necklace and hot pink turban add a few more flecks of resort-luxe to the mix.
Look 6. Tranquil & chic.
For something more subtle, go for the Washed Silk Button-Down Blouse in Cream, paired with the Salt Women’s premium denim skinny jeans in Light Coral—a color scheme that’s both tranquil and alluring with a spritz of turquoise and metallic around the neck. The best part? The fit of these jeans = smooth as butter.
Look 7. Sun Worshipper.
Finally, Washed Silk Tank in Cream makes for a perfect sunset separate when paired with the Salt Women’s premium denim skinny jeans in Lemonade, with delicate whisker fading. A red wooden beaded waterfall necklace brings the whole look together.

2. The anticipated Italian Jeans book by Maria Luisa will launch on February 2nd, 2012. From Amazon reviews:
“After emigrating from Italy to America in the middle of the nineteenth century, jeans came home after the Second World War bringing with them the image and values of the American dream. Prosperity, opportunity, a feeling of liberation, hope: the myth seemed to have been cut out of the same indigo-dyed cloth…”

Kate Moss was seen looking less bad-ass and more adorable for once, trading in her typical Brit-chic biker babe appeal for some light-hearted prettiness (polka-dot scarves included). She was in fact running errands in London wearing her Siwy Denim Hannah Slim Crop in Fall In Love all rolled up to be able to dig her feet into some grass (it’s very odd to see her wearing ballerina flats as opposed to her biker boots or stilettos). She paired her jeans with a double black and white and blue and white scarf, a cropped striped tee, and a flora print bag. We love the mix of prints & colors—it’s a cute look!
