We’ll have much more of the d.brand fall 2012 line on the way (including first-hand reviews), so stay tuned.
As you guys know, we’ve been super excited for Moussy’s stateside launch, and dropped by the opening party at the epic Meatpacking District pop-up shop (which will exist only until Black Friday for shopping, after which permanent location discussions will ensue) to check out the line and celebrate in October. The shop looks more like a club than a retail location, but when you moved aside the hors d’oeuvres (we lost count of how many cranberry sauce meatballs we scarfed down after 25), the DJ, the live band, and the party-goers, it was all about the clothes. A pure rock’n'roll badass aesthetic, featuring tailored blazers, biker jackets, acid wash denim, and faux-fur.

And FYI, Moussy is also running a MOUSSYGIRL Snapshot contest through November 21st which awards $100 to shop the store to girls who bring the best Moussy style to the camera (you can get your snapshot taken at the store to enter, and then have friends “like” your photo with wild abandon to increase your chances of winning). The first two winners are below!
Stay tuned! In a few days we’re going to take you inside the Moussy NY shop and walk you through the collection so you can see what all the buzz is about, up close.

With all the craze surrounding the return to ’70s fashions, flared jeans and vintage denim, we thought we’d revisit an iconic look, made notorious by the Hell’s Angels biker bang from the 1960s, and solidified into pop culture thanks to a slew of biker genre movies such as Wild Angels (1966) and Easy Rider (1969). We’ve seen plenty of how the Hell’s Angels gang members dressed back then, but little is known on how the ladies dressed. To fit in, many ladies dressed the same as the men: black jeans, double denim looks with sleeves sometimes ripped off. The notion of a biker chick has changed over the years and there are more style options: moto jeggings, Alexander McQueen skull jewelry, etc. How would you rock your moto style?
Bar Refaeli is smokin’ hot in Germany’s latest issue of GQ. She appears on the cover in denim cut-off shorts and a leather jacket, propped on a motorcycle wheel with a helmet in-hand and a big, glamorous hair-do. The Israeli model also dons a studded vest and a black lace bra (not the most amazing styling we’ve ever seen, but who are we to turn down denim & sex appeal?). If this doesn’t get you revved up for summer, nothing will! Except maybe a pair of these nasty little shorts…
