Leaping from Paris and Milan Fashion Week, we hop on over to S?o Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW) where iconic Brazilian brand, Colcci just closed out their Inverno 2011 (winter 2011) runway show last Sunday. Gisele B?ndchen also returned to the catwalk, making her comeback of sorts as the face of Colcci. Accompanying her on the runway were Ashton Kutcher (no stranger to modeling) and Alessandra Ambrosio, who stepped in for Gisele during her maternity leave. Demi Moore and Talullah Willis were front row, looking fabulous in their matching nude tone heels. Denim Therapy first covered Colcci in 2008, when the men’s denim collection was just emerging. It seems Colcci is now taking serious steps to develop the men’s collection further with a well-known male celebrity like Ashton.
For SPFW 2011, Colcci produced a denim-centric collection which speaks to the Brazilian taste for distressed streetwear and sexy silhouettes to enhance curves. We also noticed the use of purple, coral and nude tones, but not surprising for Brazilian fashion, as its fashion designers have a penchant for incorporating vibrant color and patterns for the runway. On-trend fur, wedge lace-up ankle boots and drop-crotch jeans signal Colcci’s desire to appeal to the European market. Look for denim on denim, crinkle and bleached out effects.
