The Birkin bag is the ultimate celebrity standard when it comes to who-wears-what, but the real star here is denim. Ashlee Simpson stepped out in a pair of James Jeans Twiggy jeans in Slate. We love how she put together a look that’s totally downtown with some vintage appeal, in a faux-fur collar coat, brimmed hat, and graphic sweater.

Ashlee Simpson was spotted doing some last-minute Christmas shopping at the American Vintage store on Melrose Avenue wearing her Dittos jeans. Dittos is a denim brand that dates back to the 1970′s however it was relaunched in 2007 with a full collection that is both modern and has a vintage perspective. Ashlee Simpson has been seen wearing the Dittos brand very often (especially this specific flare-leg style).

We love the black and white ensemble including the incredible Chanel earrings- now that’s bringing vintage back (the blonde short hair suits her well too)! You can check out Dittos’ looks and shop the website to see more of what we’re talking about.

Without a doubt one of my favorite stylish celebs is Ashlee Simpson. Like one of our other denim-wearing stylish crushes, Rachel Bilson, Ashlee never looks too styled, and always gives you the impression as if she picked everything out herself. Here Ashlee is wearing James Jeans Twiggy in Slate. In true rock n’ roll fashion, she’s paired them with an amazing leopard crop jacket, a simple long sleeve tee, ankle-high booties, and adds a pop of color with a red, fringe detailed clutch. Oh, and how can I forget that amazing wide-brim hat–a must have for the next few season, everyone! Perfect balance, perfect denim, perfect look!

Amidst another approaching fall season and the realistic concerns of the U.S. recession, GAP creative director Patrick Robinson has developed a new premium denim line at non-designer prices. With 14 different styles and washes for men and women, the 1969 Premium Jeans Collection will only feature pieces under sixty dollars.
With a vibrant launch party last Thursday that included such guests such as Joel Madden, Ashley Simpson and Halle Berry, the line will officially be released at all GAP stores this week. Robinson devoted over one year to researching and perfecting this luxury line for the everyday fashionista, and he stands confident that the only difference these quality fabrics and sleek cuts will find with “designer” denim is the price tag. Watch out, denim world.
