Are these the new It Jeans? Fiercely independent, Current/Elliott is a denim brand who has been known to set denim trends, so we’re not surprised they have produced muted polka dot and striped jeans—a departure from all the colored jeans coming out. No strangers to pushing the striped jean (remember the Hickory Stripe jean from their debut collection?), this duo constantly finds new ways for us to get excited about jeans. By the way, these jeans are an answer to the neon jeans trend, for those who want jeans that are fun but not bright. Looks like ’80s fashion is alive and well.

Fashion in the 80s don’t stay in the 80s. As much as some of us here at Denim Therapy would prefer to forget that decade (pimples, parachute pants, awkward social scenarios), Hysteric Glamour‘s Fall-Winter 2011 lookbook made all those high school junior high memories rush back. At least, the fun ’80s fashion memories. You think Boyfriend jeans are just for the ladies? In this lookbook, the male and female models are swapping the printed boyfriend jean. And certainly, Hysteric Glamour is not shy about colors and patterns. Check out the colorful graphic print jeans and copious amounts of merit badge-like patches on military and disco-Letterman style jackets. Because you know, girls (and boys) just wanna have fun.

The fashion world recently announced that the 80s are finally over. Or is it? With the release of MacGruber, set to open in theaters on May 21, the Saturday Night Live sketch gone big screen is forcing denim lovers all over the world to hang onto faded, baggy jeans, just a little longer. A parody of the 80s television series, MacGyver, starring Richard Dean Anderson, MacGruber has jumped onto the 80s craze a bit too late. Where was this movie, say, a year ago? Get the MacGruber/MacGyver look? Let’s just say, it should be a popular theme for Halloween this year.

Alright, I’m talking about Kourtney Kardashian’s Boyfriend/Baby Daddy’s jeans here. I know I’m not the only one who noticed this in this photo, but wouldn’t you think Kourtney would’ve hired a stylist for this lovely shot? It’s sort of a prom photo, except Kourtney is dressed up and boyfriend Scott Disick is dressed down. Way down. Anybody have a suggestion on what other jeans he could’ve and should’ve worn for this photo op? I hear celebrity boyfriend makeover!
