You don’t have to be a denim-head to remember your first pair of jeans. Usually they’re the pair you’ve had for the longest time and have the most damage — the jeans you never want to part with. We talked to Nate, Brooklynite and denim lover, about his very first pair of jeans — green denim and corduroy bell-bottoms. See what he has to say about how he wore them to the bone and how he wishes he’d kept them so Denim Therapy could come to his rescue, nearly thirty years later.

Matias Denim is anything short of California cool in its latest lookbook. The brand keeps things totally LA for spring with poolside fun, American flag bandannas (and shoes), and a wide selection of casual denim separates perfect for the Cali heat! We love the mix of distressed stone wash jeans in blues and greys with laid back 70s influences like oversized stripes, wide-brimmed hats, and fringe. Definitely perfect for weekend getaways, festivals, and soaking up the West Coast heat. Don’t worry everyone, spring will be here before you know it!

Harieth Paul channels true 1970?s cool in this fashion editorial for the July 2011 pages of Elle Canada. Shot by Richard Bernardin the Tanzanian beauty is definitely giving us a classic foxy vibe in bold floral print separates, and some of the summer seasons hottest denim looks. We’re pretty much in love with the amazing shredded denim overalls but we have to admit our favorite look is definitely the Stella McCartney oversized denim tunic styled with those killer lace -up thigh-high boots. Hands down our favorite take on the 70s trend to date!

We’re psyched to let you know that MiH Jeans has just launched their Exclusive Capsule Collection with NET-A-PORTER. MiH Jeans delved into their archives to bring out the very best of their 70′s style (right on trend); think wide leg culottes, flared jeans, swing shirts, vintage tunics and button down skirts in a palette of sheer dusty pink, Oxford blue, crisp white and fawn. They are offering their popular Marrakesh kick flare in two washes and fabrics. However, they have come up with two new shapes – the Milan, with its chic wide column leg, and the Monaco, an ankle-grazing kick flare. MiH not only has incredible denim pieces but soft cotton separates that will surely complete your summer ensembles.
In honor of their collaboration MiH is offering their Facebook fans a competition for a chance to win your choice of an item from Designer Chloe Lonsdale Picks and a one of a kind illustration by Kat Macleod.
To enter, simply email TheTeam@mih-jeans.com the name of your favourite 70′s song and a few sentences about why you like it. On Monday, Chloe will post her three favorite submissions—then it’s up to you to pick the very best. ‘Like’ the song that you think captures the perfect 70′s summer vibe, then the Facebook fan with the most ‘likes’ will receive these fab prizes.
Good luck.
