Denim Tips For Guys: How to Wear a Blazer with Jeans

A cool feature at JCrew.com is an advice page called Jack Knows Best, in which “Jack” dispenses menswear styling tips and act more or less like a fashion concierge (you can even email him!). One of Jack’s latest tips are how you can wear a blazer with jeans:

“First, pick a clean, slim jean like our 484 in dark indigo or, now that it’s summer, a white jean. No rips, fading or whiskering—keep it simple. Then, go for a textured jacket because it’s a better match for the casual look of denim. Think seersucker or linen for warm months and herringbone or tweed for cooler ones. I think Andy Warhol always did the blazer and 501® jeans look really well—with a little bit of irony.”
