The Olsen Twins are determined to make their denim-centric TEXTILE Elizabeth & James line a thriving, distinguishable brand, rather than a capsule spin-off from the more established Elizabeth & James brand. Do not mistake TEXTILE as a diffusion line; the price points are pretty similar. For the Fall 2011 lookbook, artfully patched jeans in colorful blocks of overlapping fabric is the stand-out feature. The rest of the collection is a slubby, laid-back California vibe (note the poncho, layering tees and longjohns). There is some hint of the ’70s trend via the flared jeans (if the model’s blond, tousled hair is no indicator), but fall looks to be less ’70s than the current Spring-Summer 2011 collection. Check out a few of our favorites or view the entire denim selection in the gallery.
