Diesel Black Gold held its Spring-Summer 2012 menswear presentation last Sunday in Milan at the Diesel Penthouse, and now we get to see what men can look for: this collection is a continuation of the traveler theme; the nomad’s quest takes him to the sea for the season, as exhibited in navy and marine motifs, laser-etched into garments.
The slightly tattered and deliberately mended look speaks to the nomad man’s exposure to the elements. Unlike Diesel Black Gold’s Fall-Winter 2011 more tailored collection, which is very 1970s-inspired (complete with wool-collared jackets, bell bottoms and a mix of native influences), we see more function than glamour in SS2012.
