With spring comes the chance to amp up your look, and we’re all about new beginnings. Pair two of our favorite style points this season to make a major statement: Neons and denim (any wash, seriously) are a match made in heaven. We’ll let these fresh picks do the talking.
1. Know your body type and be willing to experiment to find what works for you. Curvy women look amazing in tapered jeans and straight leg as opposed to an extreme skinny. Taller gals can (and should) pull off flare-leg jeans with ease.
2. Shop for jeans with a bit of stretch to achieve a snug fit without feeling uncomfortable. The best jeans can be worn in the office, out around town, and on the even plane!
3. As a general rule, avoid super low rise jeans. Be sure they have at least an 8″ rise from crotch to waist band. Even if you’re thin, low rise aren’t flattering and they don’t provide enough coverage of your backside when you sit down.

If you’re into boyfriend/drop-crotch jeans but don’t want to go outside looking like a Gwen Stefani fan from the early ’90s, there’s a way to pull off the look in a sophisticated fashion.
Redbook says, “Boyfriend jeans (baggy and cuffed) are the trendiest right now but can be sophisticated, too — just avoid the torn, ultra-distressed, low-rise styles that scream “teen.” They’re also versatile: Dress them up with a tailored shirt and heels or down with flats and a favorite tee.”

On our radar today? The Marcy Stop and their ongoing denim-styling prowess. We love how they styled this pair of grey light-wash jeans with maroon ankle boots. The jeans are turned up in a dramatic cuff to accentuate the ankle area and prelude the bold red shoes. We’re loving the jacket and accessories too. Score a similar style with a pair of light-wash grey jeans by Victoria Beckham.

…sound too good to be true? The verdict is a bit hazy, but according to WWD, there’s a new pair of jeans in town that can actually help you lose weight.
One brand, Mohicano Jeans, has aloe vera, vitamin E, amino acids, and enzymes woven right into the fabric — things that supposedly reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks by promoting cell growth, collagen, and elastin. After wearing these jeans for 15 days (don’t lie, you’ve done it before), skin’s hydration should increase by 11.5%. The cosmetic properties are good for about 40 washes, after which you’re left with a normal, though reasonably cute, pair of $85 jeans.
In a trial of 160 women, 2/3 said they noticed a change for the better over the course of four weeks of everyday wear. Other brands work on more or less the same principle and retail in the ballpark of $80 — though not all last as long as 40 washes, like the Eve jean by LeRock and its leg-shaping abilities, which only last for 28 days and retail for a full $275.

You think the peplum trend is going away? Think again. It Girl Hanneli Mustaparta shows us how to get the look for fall and winter with a few key wardrobe essentials for keeping those flirty ruffles in your street style repertoire. Keep The Beat, Mango‘s style blog, says: “The secret with peplum is to combine it with a skinny trouser, denim or otherwise. The added touch of the gloves gives the look a more feminine edge, while a good heeled shoe streamlines the figure. And we must not overlook the oversized bag either, ideal for carrying all your things.”

This fall, pointy toe shoes are back! So, how do we style them with our jeans? According to Glamour Magazine, a fashion DON’T is to wear fall’s pointy toe pumps with your wide leg jeans. Instead, pair your cute metallic or printed pointy footwear with cropped jeans. Whether you agree with this style point or not, do note that cropped and skinny jeans allow you to better show off the straps, such as the Alexander Wang Tati Lizard Print pumps with strappy details, and cut-out details such as the 3.1 Philip Lim Kadie Booties, by not draping over them. And while you’re at it, take a look at a few pairs of skinny and skinny cropped jeans we’ve set aside for you.
