A No-Stress Way To Remove Odor From Jeans

Need to remove the odor from a pair of jeans so you can rock them at all of your holiday gatherings this year? Yeah, that’s right, we know you’re going to wear your favorite pair to literally every social function you’re invited to. Don’t let the stank ruin your festive swagger! While you’re buzzing about doing last minute holiday tasks, dampen your jeans in water. Then, hang them out on the laundry line and let the fresh air penetrate them. Spritz them a few times with Febreeze, and bring them inside at the end of the day.

Don’t have a laundry line? Put them on a pant hanger (clipped, not folded) and find a trusty non-sappy tree branch to hang them from. Presto. Just be sure to check the weather first!

A Holiday Miracle? This Is One Epic Crotch Repair

Is it a holiday miracle, or just seasoned denim repair experts that made this repair job come together so seamlessly? We’ll go with the latter! We received this devastated pair of jeans recently that looked like they’d been in an unfortunate knife fight in the crotch region (yikes). But denim lovers know the crotch can wear and tear quicker than any other part of the jean. We were prepared to embark on a rescue mission that has, indeed, ended happily. Scroll to see the after.

How To Get The Perfect Jean Hem Length

When you take in your jeans to get hemmed (for instance, via our Denim Therapy expert hemming service!) be sure to bring a pair of shoes with you to wear when getting measured.

Before your jeans go under the knife you’ll want to make sure the shoes you measure with are the shoes you’re planning to pair with the jeans (or at the least, a similar heel/lack of heel). This will take the guess work out of figuring out the measurement you’ll be happiest with.

Remember, for all your hemming needs, whether it’s a re-size or a repair, check out Denim Therapy’s expert hemming service.

DIY A Chic Denim Wrapped Bangle

P.S. – I made this… has a new idea for your discarded denim scraps. It’s quick and creative, and ends up looking super chic. Cut your denim into strips—ideally, denim in different washes and colors, and wrap them around a bangle bracelet. Use your chain to wrap around the bracelet and secure the denim in place.

How To Store Your Jeans

So you already know how to care for your jeans, but once they’re spic-and-span and free of stains, do you know how to properly fold and store them to reduce wear-out? Stylecaster has something to say about that:

“Fold jeans like a pro: Lay jeans on a flat surface, fold in half from left to right. Grab the stacked jean legs and fold them in half so the hem of the jeans lines up with the waistband. Fold the jeans in half one more time.

Denim needs to breathe, so be sure to not pack folded pairs too tightly together on a shelf, or hand denim jackets or vests in a crowded closet”
