Miley Cyrus was recently spotted sporting her edgy new look and cut-off denim shorts just as short as her boy-length haircut. You can see them peeking out from beneath her shirt. The vocalist was leaving the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, but no one was able to report on exactly why she was wearing silver platform stripper heels. We’ll keep you posted on that. Ladies and gents, MC has a new favorite pair of jeans. The latest offerings from Williamsburg Garment Company—remember when Renee reviewed their skinny jeans as a day-to-night staple?—include a medium-wash stretch denim high-waisted skinny for women. These jeans get the high score for holding flawless shape a full day of flea market prowling and a full night of dancing. They also possess the eternally sought-after slimming effect and cool details for denim-geeks to gawk at.
What was your first thought when you tried them on?
It was “Yesssss. Come to mama.” I also noticed the well proportioned back pockets (pocket size can really wreak havoc on a gal’s attempts to appear slimmer) and the cool side pocket stitching detail when I looked in the mirror. I love subtle design points that set a pair of jeans apart.
Where/when would you wear these?
I wore them to the flea market and strolling around Brooklyn, to brunch, to an insane all night dance party… no stretch or sag in the fabric. They looked and felt great. I’d wear these anywhere. I expect to get a lot of miles out of them this spring.
How’s the fit?
Love the high-rise, love the tight fit around the hips/behind, and knees. They have enough stretch for comfort but they still feel like denim, which is rare with women’s jeans. Too often it’s a free-for-all spandex blend jegging party. It’s hard to find the right balance. Aside from the feel of the fit, I was told they look great but friends and strangers while wearing them, so that probably counts for something.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was spotted recently wearing a pair of black leather leggings while making her way through the airport. Obviously erring on the side of style rather than comfort here, but it works for Rosie. She paired the leggings with a simple striped knit top. Each season they edge a bit more towards crisply tailored sportswear and Americana-inspired looks that modern and sleek. Designers Victor and Sarah Lytvinenko understand that their customer wants a combination of classic concepts and cutting edge style, which can be seen in each ensemble below. Our favorite looks included bleached, overdyed stone grey women’s jeans, a two-tone wax canvas jacket, washed wax coated jeans, and a blue tweed deconstructed blazer.

Well, what do we have here? Gerard Butler was seen cycling around Mexico City this week, looking muy guapo, in his Citizens of Humanity Sid straight leg jeans in Rainforest wash. He is in town to promote his latest film, “Olympus Has Fallen.” These straight leg jeans fit him a bit slimmer around the calf, so no getting that denim stuck in the chain. We also love the hem length: no dragging the floor! Maybe Gerry just looks great in anything, but his Citizens jeans sure looks sharp and comfy, even if only worn with a simple shirt and sneakers.
