New York Fashion Week is almost over, and aside from peeping the runways (which are crawling with gorgeous ensembles this season), we’ve had our eye on what people attending the shows are wearing. Street style is one of our favorite sources of inspiration as we prep our wardrobes for upcoming seasons. Here are some of our favorite looks from the past 7 days, courtesy of the NY Mag’s many fashion week galleries.

You’ve probably heard the buzz that skinny jeans are on their way out the door—whether you blame the activewear craze or a simple change of pace, it can’t be denied. We still adore a pair of tight-as-hell skinnies, but the industry and consumer general consensus seems to be that there are more creative (and chic) ways to sport denim this fall. We’ve provided a few options, too.
But what will you be wearing if you don’t wear skinny jeans once the weather turns crisp? Style.com suggests mom jeans as an option, and predicts their return in a big way—but they’re “not your mother’s mom jeans.” Stars like Miley Cyrus and fashion icons like Daria Werbowy are on-board, along with Chloë Sevigny and the always-flawless Jenna Lyons. Mom jeans are being paired with oversize designer belts, blazers, crop tops, and a classic red heel. Click through for serious some mom jeans inspiration.

Julia Restoin Roitfeld, model and daughter of Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld, was spotted front row at New York Fashion Week during the Tim Coppens SS15 show. She wore a combination denim-on-denim ensemble of Current/Elliott (top—click here to purchase a similar one by AG Jeans) and FRAME Denim (skirt—click here to purchase). We’re digging that Chanel bag, too.

Alessandra Ambrosio‘s summer style is too cute for words. Her mix of pastels, head scarves, and short-shorts have us wishing the season would last forever. Her looks here features a pair of white denim cut-off shorts by Oneteaspoon that ride low on then hips—perfect for slouchy summer tops.

In case you were wondering if it’s warm in Syndey, Australia right now, it’s not. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was recently snapped there wearing a Burberry poncho, brimmed hat, Christian Louboutin boots, and a pair of Paige Margot skinny jeans in Armstrong. All of this adds up to a flawless fall outfit, and just in time: we’re going to be seeing cooler days before you know it.

Jean Stories (hands-down our favorite read online right now… style muses galore!) interviewed denim-loving babe Alexis Krauss from the band Sleigh Bells about her habit of wearing cut-off jean shorts on stage. She reveals her secret for not showing any butt cheek despite loving uber short shorts, the hypothetical star sign of her Levi’s, and which of her own songs captures the way she feels about her denim habit. Check out the full interview here.

Katie Holmes, infamous for her good girl image, recently appeared on the cover of Glamour Magazine exposing some serious cleavage… but all we could focus on was her great denim-on-denim outfit. Also of note? An awesome quote from the interview inside, in which Katie lets everyone know what her favorite wardrobe staple is: ”I’m always comfortable in jeans. I feel like I can really do anything when I’m in them,” she says in Glamour. Looks like we officially have something in common with this stellar celeb.

Kate Hudson is, hands down, one of our favorite celebs. Her style is always casual-cool and she looks as great in a sweatshirt as she does in an LBD. We’re feeling her outfit during a recent airport run-through. She dressed up her super simple white denim cut-off shorts and white knit top with a pop color scarf and sunnies. Grab a similar pair below.

Taylor Swift stepped out looking chic as ever in NYC recently, wearing a pair of H&M burgundy denim shorts (grab a lighter red, similar pair here). She paired them with a navy cardigan and a simple white blouse, complimenting her girl-next-door hairdo. But she can’t fool us! We know those cat eyes of hers are scoping out the city for a good time. Our only question is, where’s her BFF Lorde?
