H&M knows that the desire to capture iconic 70s beauty is as popular as ever, and they smartly worked Lara Stone into the mix to ensure their newest campaign for fall—which is, as you can see, oozing with 70s vibes—is a hit. She wears high waisted flare leg jeans like no one else. The mix of light wash denim and camel hues feels as fresh as ever. Could it be that we just never grow tired of seeing this aesthetic? Check out the full campaign.

The Wall Street Journal explored a spectrum of silhouettes and textures beyond the generic skinny jean in an understated editorial for their February 2015 issue. Shot by Annemarieke Van Drimmelen, the denim styling evokes a sense of creativity and effortlessness. Modeled by the enigmatic Constance Jablonski, who reminds of of Cybil from the first Silent Hill game—see?, the effect is an editorial that peers toward the future, patiently waiting for everyone else to catch up. When it comes to denim trends from eras past, the ’70s had it all. From gorgeous faded washes to embroidery and romantic silhouettes, there are countless ideas to draw from. Self Service Magazine published an inspiring and sexy editorial for spring 2015, featuring model Malgosia Bela in high waisted, flare-leg jeans and worn-in tees, with a dash of luxe crochet and summer separates. Photographer Angelo Pennetta captured this perfectly nostalgic image of carefree glamour, making us crave summer (and maybe a viewing of Boogie nights) more than ever.

Net-A-Porter‘s curated e-magazine, The Edit, is all about denim this issue. Focusing on the versatility of our favorite textile, Editor Jennifer Dickinson comments, “Fashion is one of the few industries where denim is an acceptable part of the working wardrobe. Or it was – this season, with Valentino, Tomas Maier and Victoria Beckham adding our favorite fabric to their runway repertoire, even city offices can get theblues.” See the whole issue here.

Denim and plaid are two of our favorite cold weather fashion statements—or any time, really! We love when an editorial captures the beauty of these two textures in one spread, like this December shoot from Glamour France. Shot by Hilary Walsh, it features model Giedre Dukauskaite in cozy layers, crisp chambrays, and gorgeous plaids. See plenty more here and here.

Our favorite shoot from the latest CR Fashion Book is this one, featuring Sibui Nazarenko photographed by Billy Kidd. Can you guess why? The denim layering is dead-on for fall 2014, utilizing classic denim jackets (the kind everyone has in their closet) alongside cozy knits and cold-weather favorites. We might be summer-dreaming right now, but we’re already soaking up inspiration for fall.
