Italian magazine TOH! takes us inside the hotel room of a young party boy, styled in a mix of high-and-low denim brands for their latest editorial, “Blue Jeans Baby.” The international mix of established American labels (Calvin Klein, Levi’s, Polo Ralph Lauren and Wrangler) is paired with international labels (Frankie Morello, Love Moschino, Vivienne Westwood Anglomania by Lee and Uniqlo). Its rebellious devil-may-care message seems to send the simple message that it’s not about the label. It’s about the denim. By the way, TOH! (which translates from togliere, meaning to remove or to take away) begs the question: what are you taking away from this editorial?

Ombre dyed-hair is the latest marker of cool girl nonchalance, which Sally Jonsson nails in this new Tobias Lundkvist editorial for Rodeo magazine, partnered with graphic, paint-splatter prints. Despite minimal accessorizing, everything’s still visually interesting with paint strewn in varying degrees all over black jeans, ripped jeans, shorts, shirts, and even shoes. It’s a nice change of pace to see something in an editorial that you may not be able to afford, but always have the option to DIY. Grab paint, grab jeans, and go to town!

There’s no way around it: Karlie Kloss is très adorable and we just can’t get enough, especially when she’s rocking denim. The seasoned model stars in the January 2012 Free People catalog, and we’re absolutely obsessed with the outfits she’s wearing whilst roaming the streets of New York City with pretzel, hot dog, and MetroCard in tow. Why? It’s a simple equation. Denim vests, chambray pinafore dresses, polished dark-wash shorts, and a gorgeous model, awash in the glow of one of the greatest cities in the world–what’s not to love?

We love editorials that don’t appear too forced (though the occasional awkward, stiff model in a ballgown is fun, we’re sorta free-spirited here at DT). This denim-clad ed in Oyster Magazine hits the nail on the head, featuring Ashley Smith chain smoking and having fun on a summer road trip, shot by Jason Lee Parry. Her gap-toothed grin and excessive jewelry are a refreshing departure from, say, editorials like this, which are denim-rich but lacking a certain genuine joviality that we associate with wearing our favorite fabric. Ashley rocks a variety of denim trends, from printed colored jeans to patchwork mom-jeans and a perfect worn-in, dirty denim workshirt. Take a mini mental vacation today and check out the images below.

Who says that denim can’t be the starting point for rad art? Attitude had the great idea of distributing ten classic denim jackets to ten different artists–from graffiti artist Mr. Shiz to multimedia artist Danny Sangra–and then photographing the results. The aptly-named “Ten Jackets by Ten Artists” editorial in the magazine’s January 2012 issue shows us jackets that are so not the norm; they’ve been spray-painted, dyed, studded, and reworked in nearly every manner possible. Check out all of the funky fresh looks below!

Erin Wasson is rocking one of our favorite year-round wardrobe staples in the new Zadig & Voltaire spring 2012 campaign shoot: white denim cut-off shorts. She also wears a pair of coated metallic jeans. She’s styled in sheer button-down tops, slinky metallic knits, and basic tanks for a look that’s casual-bohemian and totally luxe. Watch the making-of video below.

Vangardist Magazine features the snood trend styled along with some cool denim looks in this short editorial. We ain’t gonna lie, we’re not exactly one hundred percent sure how to feel about these animal ear furry scarf-hat hybrids, but one is certain: they sure look warm and fuzzy (and we dig the Navajo print details!). Chances are we won’t be in a hurry to get our hands on one, but you can be sure that if we ever do we’ll sport it with something along the lines of these casual-cool denim looks!

Jeans are the epitome of model off-duty style, not only for their ease and capability to rough it through casting calls, but also because they are the perfect clean sartorial palette. New Australian magazine Stonefox captures that casual cool with this striking black-and-white editorial. Donning simple tees (or none at all), ripped and ragged cutoffs, denim jumpsuits, jean jackets, and more, Dempsey Stewart looks fresh-faced and subtly sexy–always a winning combination.

When it comes to the definition of glam, you can bet that bombshell waves, scarlet polish, and dramatic, gem-encrusted jewelry will be included in the description. Vogue Spain‘s December 2011 “Joyas” supplement has all that and more. Grounded in crisp chambray oxford tops and grainy, dark-wash denim shirts, Charlotte di Calypso avoids looking like she overdosed on decadence. We love the mix of denim with rich, high-waisted bottoms, all thrown under wool overcoats and topped off with structured handbags, tongue-in-cheek hats, and oodles of glittery baubles. It’s fun, flirty, and just the right amount of alluring.
