“It’s Oscar time. That means dazzling gowns, tailored tuxes and … denim?
Yep! While it’s not often associated with the red carpet, iconic indigo has a definitive place in Hollywood when it comes to the films themselves. Since the 1950s, onscreen jeans have created a cinematic archive of popular styles over the years, setting trends as they record them.
Rihanna is featured on the March issue of Vogue—the same one that has a very innovative new kind of ad placed in it by Gap. She’s looking carefree and spirited in Louis Vuitton boyfriend jeans (click for a similar pair) and a sheer black beaded top, along with neutral-hued makeup and a choppy short hairstyle. We’re digging it in comparison to her usual less jovial appearance. What do you think?

Gap‘s Lived-In global marketing campaign features emerging and talented young artists including musicians, singers, actors and photographers wearing their authentic, worn-in Gap staples: youthful interpretations of classic, casual styles.
The “Lived-In” attitude is brought to life by a cast of emerging and talented young artists including musicians, singers, actors and photographers. The campaign includes Trinidadian-born American recording artist Theophilus London; English singer-songwriters Birdy and Anna Calvi; American actors RJ Mitte and Julia Garner; Swedish photographer Lina Scheynius; and American singer-songwriter and record producer Ernest Green (performing under the stage name Washed Out).
A second interesting component to the campaign includes an ad in Vogue magazine’s March issue: a first-ever tactile fabric print ad, which includes a fabric logo made from the cotton of a worn-in tee, driving home the idea of clothes you can live in.

We love former SNL staple and brilliant comedian Kristen Wiig, so we’re thrilled to see her in V Magazine‘s spring issue. Even better, she’s rocking stylish denim duds: a bleached out denim jacket, and medium wash mid rise cropped jeans. We already knew she had style, but now we’re totally crazed.

Jamie Chung wore head-to-toe American Eagle #AEOStyle while ice skating, tossing snowballs and going on a hot chocolate run with her friend’s daughter in New York City recently. We’re loving this classic sweater, snug-fitting jeans, and the pop of color in he beanie hat.
The trendsetting star looked cool and casual in her Fair Isle Crew Sweater and red Ribbed Beanie—both holiday pieces from the brand’s “Legendary Gift” collection—completing the laidback look with a pair of the brand’s signature destroyed Skinny Jeans. Below are additional details on her outfit as well as a link to download hi-res imagery of the individual pieces.

Sultry songstress Lana Del Rey looks awesome on the cover of Nylon Magazine‘s most recent issue, wearing a Calvin Klein Jean denim shirt and some sexy, strappy black separates. Inside the singer discusses her reaction to different phases in her life, from attending her first philosophy class at age 15, to what it was like when she was living in the city and attending Fordham University:
“I would go over different rhymes in my head, like rhyming ‘disco’ with ‘go-go,’ writing about girls with blue mascara and black eyeliner, and about all of the men I had met who I just loved. It was a very liberating, penniless, hilarious, fun, fun time.”
Read more quotes from this enigmatic entity. We don’t know about you, but we love Lana! Grab a copy of NYLON at your local newsstand for more.
