This could start out as a classic case of would you wear it? But we’re going to start off instead with a yes we can! Metallic pastel skinny jeans are the perfect way to spice things up this spring. Wear them with your favorite strappy sandals and a breezy tank-and-bandeau combo. You’re in luck if you’re ready to take this trend into your own hands… these two pairs are on sale for under $100.
Via PopSugar: We’re taking you to NYC’s Denim Therapy, where founder Francine Rabinovich shows us how to hem a pair of jeans. This is (arguably) one of the most important steps when it comes to keeping your jeans in tip-top shape, and in just a few simple steps, you can learn how to do it yourself.
Spring’s coming, and we know you’ve got one thing on your mind: cut-off shorts that make your butt look AMAZING. We stopped by the Black Orchid Denim showroom yesterday to preview their latest, and were immediately drawn to the refreshing resort wear quality of their tropical and floral printed denim shorts. Visions of sailing on a summer afternoon in a breezy tank and a pair of these cut-offs completely took over, despite the slushy, snowy conditions right outside the window. We’d say that means these shorts achieved their desired impact! Scroll to grab a pair for yourself.
For April, popular menswear shopping site MrPorter.com has kicked off their newest partnership, GQ Selects, a monthly selection of products cultivated by GQ magazine’s editorial staff, featuring key menswear pieces. The inaugural edit only features one denim product: an A.P.C. Slim Fit Washed Denim Jacket in an unexpected hue for spring in a tailored fit. It looks to be a derivative from the oxblood color craze which swept the fashion world at the beginning of winter. What do you think? Do you love this jacket?
Wallets do a number on jean pockets. When you wear the same pair of jeans for years and put your wallet in your pocket repeatedly, it adds a pretty cool wallet-shaped scar, but eventually a hole can form in your denim. And believe us, you’ve got to take care of it before you start losing spare change. Check out one of our recent denim repair jobs below.
Gals, spruce up your spring wardrobe with three fresh takes on denim classics this spring, from a wide-collar patchwork denim jacket to a pair of printed high-waisted overall shorts. Feeling flirty? Grab a pair of scalloped edge medium-wash jean shorts and pair them with a simple white top. All of these items can be paired with basics you already have in your closet to achieve the perfect spring ensemble.
1. Know your body type and be willing to experiment to find what works for you. Curvy women look amazing in tapered jeans and straight leg as opposed to an extreme skinny. Taller gals can (and should) pull off flare-leg jeans with ease.
2. Shop for jeans with a bit of stretch to achieve a snug fit without feeling uncomfortable. The best jeans can be worn in the office, out around town, and on the even plane!
3. As a general rule, avoid super low rise jeans. Be sure they have at least an 8″ rise from crotch to waist band. Even if you’re thin, low rise aren’t flattering and they don’t provide enough coverage of your backside when you sit down.
The pre-fall collection included a fresh selection of pastel hues in pinks, blues, and greys with prints like feathers and florals. Floral jeans reversed to a medium blue jean wash, which, when cuffed, turned into what we professionally describe as the cutest-jeans-ever. The Vintage Mercury 2013 collection featured beautiful metallic jeans, from champagne to pewter. Picking a favorite? Pretty much impossible.
If you’re into boyfriend/drop-crotch jeans but don’t want to go outside looking like a Gwen Stefani fan from the early ’90s, there’s a way to pull off the look in a sophisticated fashion.
Redbook says, “Boyfriend jeans (baggy and cuffed) are the trendiest right now but can be sophisticated, too — just avoid the torn, ultra-distressed, low-rise styles that scream “teen.” They’re also versatile: Dress them up with a tailored shirt and heels or down with flats and a favorite tee.”
