Metallics are one trend that reappear each time fall rolls around, and we’re not complaining. A shot of pewter or bronze in an outfit can add just the right edge, whether it’s the coating on your jeans or a more dramatic piece, like this metallic silver skirt. What do we love about this skirt in particular? It’s under $50. Worn with a chambray denim workshirt and some serious heels, it becomes a head-turning look that will take you from day to night without a hitch.
Denim workshirts are the all-purpose instant dash of cool in your closet, and there’s no better time to wear them than fall. But if you’re looking to put a twist on an already awesome classic, try this quick DIY cut-out project.
Trace out style lines (whether you want to cut out a huge chunk as shown, or smaller slices) in chalk or by thread-basting, on your denim workshirt. Then, get a nice sharp pair of fabric scissors (we love Gingher), and slowly cut along your lines, removing the denim from your workspace.
…That’s it! How did yours turn out? Let us know on facebook!

We have to admit, when Miles Solay of the New York band Outernational brought us his rock and roll’d denim jacket that was basically held together with safety pins, we were a little taken aback. But, we knew we could handle it. Take a look at how one trip to Denim Therapy took this tattered and torn grunge symbol to a badass, no-pins-required denim dream.

Is it any surprise that top fashion models love to wear denim? You’ve seen New York Fashion Week models saunter down the catwalk in next year’s most exciting new threads. But, between shows, what do these panther-prowling, platform trotting muses’ preferred go-to wardrobe basic? An acid-bleached denim jacket? Ombré skinny jeans? Sure, why not! And don’t you just want to hate them for always looking good, off duty or not! Check out these street style photos via Refinery29 and Harper’s Bazaar in which NYFW Spring-Summer 2013 models off duty are snapped in their personally-styled outfit of the day.

Los Angeles DJ Mark Kill bought his first pair of designer jeans nearly ten years ago. But, after wearing them for five years, everyday, they began to tear in the crotch. He loved the jeans so much that he saved them in the back of his closet for five years, even though his mom told him they could never be fixed. Then, he found Denim Therapy! (Stay tuned for the review video of his perfectly fixed Kenneth Coles) and send us your beloved jeans so we can fix them, too.

No time to fuss over what you’re going to wear today? Try this super easy (and very chic) combination that’s perfect for fall. It’s the fail-proof denim x knit top x jacket equation, and it always = awesome.
Start with your favorite pair of jeans (we love a relaxed fit, perhaps with a bit of distressing, but skinny works too). For fall, we’ll start out with dark wash jeans. Add a scoop neck knit top, tucked in either fully with a belt or just half-tucked in the front. Over this, throw a soft tailored blazer and cuff the sleeves. Add some chic flats, and you’re out the door!
We spotted two on-trend ladies during NYFW who have this look down to a science.

Raleigh Denim‘s spring 2013 presentation showcased a light and breezy side to the ethical brand’s otherwise modern industrial aesthetic. Graphic elements included specially designed floral prints, grids and geometric shapes. There was a gorgeous white dip-dyed silk dress and smart button-ups for both sexes. Dark wash raw denim was cuffed up to reveal selvedge, and a pair of sexy short-shorts on a blonde female model brought immediate nostalgia for next summer.
Below, one half of the husband and wife design team, Sarah Lytvinenko, shares the story behind the collection (and their new New York store, which just opened at 211 Elizabeth St in SoHo).
