One day before the new Superdry store opened in Times Square (with plenty of fanfare, AKA free leather jackets), we stopped in to check out the spring collection and have a few vanilla macaroons. Here’s a great tip from Donna Ida to take with you on your next denim shopping endeavor. Jeans with whiskers (especially of the subtle, natural-looking variety) can add some depth and dimension to your jeans’ crotch and hip area, and help you avoid looking wider and “blocky”. If you’re trying to look slimmer from the front, take this tip into consideration, and check out some great whiskered washes below.

A very cool exhibition is coming to NYC in June, thanks to globe-trotting photographer Eric Kvatek (known for shooting the lookbooks of brands like PRPS and Kapital). It’s called Japanese Indigo: Boro, and showcases his Japanese indigo textiles from as far back as the early 1800s. The exhibition will be held at Mondo Cane in Tribeca, June 21st—July 12th, with an opening party for denim heads to kick it off.
