Mih Jeans is getting dreamy this summer with a line of gorgeous effortless basics and rich colored jeans in their hallmark styles: “The light, dreamy, ease of summer. Simple and unforced dressing. Reflecting the way we live; or want to live.” They introduce three new silhouettes (the Oxford, the Miramar, and the Milan), some adorable scalloped edges, sheer tops, Indigo linens, and everything you need to add a bohemian-yet-luxe wardrobe in the warmest months of the year. See the lookbook and a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot here below.
How would you describe your best summer ever? Getting your boots and Edwin Jeans muddy during a week-long ride with complete strangers? Edwin Europe has made a case for creating a memorable experience in their Spring-Summer 2012 lookbook. Edwin words their “social experiment” poignantly: “the true spirit of Edwin jeans is created but the person living in them, making everyday count with yesterday’s memories etched into the rich indigo fabric and in the knowledge that tomorrow’s good times are still to be created.” The riders were outfitted in Edwin apparel and denim,: including black chambray shirts, ED-71 Red Listed selvage and ED-71 Rainbow Listed selvage jeans, and a covetable RV selvage denim jacket.

2. Sooo, we get it. Sex sells. But what do the jeans even look like in the new Replay Denim campaign? Irina Shayk is doing her sultry thing but there isn’t a single image in the campaign where you see a full length shot of the jeans.
5. Kate Bosworth is working on a denim collection with her stylist, Cher Coulter. We guess she’s inspired by JewelMint‘s success, but we wonder if we can expect anything but a spandex-blend colored denim rehash of every popular women’s jean right now. Surprise us, Kate!
One of the biggest trade shows in Europe happens at Bread & Butter Berlin, and G-Star RAW was there to debut their new Spring-Summer 2012 collection to buyers. If you ever decide to launch a denim label and break into Europe, this is the trade show you must get into. The scale of the displays are hardcore as each brand competes for attention. See exclusive snaps and behind-the-scenes views of G-Star’s enormous space at the trade show, complete with an “art” installation hall, open-plan booth and dedicated storefront.
This spring, Big Star is throwing their hat into the ring to bring you hard, crunchy jeans for men that look like they’re meant to get a little down and dirty, which is in contrast to the women’s colorful set of denim cutoffs and bell bottoms—too pretty to get grungy. A well-known brand in Europe (founded 1974), this Los Angeles-made denim brand has the experience to make jeans that are relaxed enough for those summer camping trips: from freak rain while you’re sleeping under the stars to impromptu hay rides out on the farm. Although hugely influenced by an Americana aesthetic, Big Star is just trendy enough to meet the demands of the fickle denim aficionado.
Previously, Denim Therapy covered Hudson Jeans‘ release of their new Loulou neon jeans ($198), a super skinny cropped jean with a glow in the dark tuxedo stripe on the outseam. Remember those alien glow stripes? If you are still unsure about jumping on the bandwagon, better act fast. These jeans are limited editions and no complaining if all the cool kid’s down at the club are rocking them (and you’re not). Check out the phosphorescent jeans in action (turn up your audio up, or down if you’re at work), because Hudson Jeans is about to knock your socks off. UPDATE: The jeans don’t actually glow in the dark by itself, but will glow under a black light. We want to try it out!
We think you probably don’t need much persuading when it comes to buying a perfect pair of jeans, but buying two pairs? These days people’s purse strings are tighter than ever, but here’s why it might not be such a bad idea to stock up when you find “the one”:
“When you find a pair of jeans you love, buy two.
Tailor one to wear with flats, and keep the other long enoguh to wear with heels. Here’s why: With heels, your jeans’ hem should just skim the floor—this elongates your legs. But if you wear that same pair with flats, you’ll end up stepping on (and tearing up) the bottoms, and the look will be more schlumpy than chic.” (Via LuckyMag).
We have only two things to say, and we’ll leave the decision making to you. First, you could also cuff your jeans when you wear them with flats. Everyone knows the perfect cuff can be as noteworthy as an accessory on its own. Secondly, if you do tear the hems up, you know where to go for your expert denim repair!
After this morning’s wintry dose of glam rock, we’re ready to slip into a warmer, dreamier state of mind. Current/Elliott’s spring 2012 lookbook should do the trick, with its distinctly Virgin Suicides-esque cast of bored hipster beauties, hanging out on the porch like it’s their day job. The line features some sure-to-be-best-seller’s like colored denim polka-dot cropped jeans (in case you want to cover three trends in one), a playful denim jacket with contrast piping, and floral print jeans in several cuts.
We had a blast at PROJECT NY last week, blogging in the Blogger Project (curated by Marcus Troy). We browsed denim, sportswear, and accessories while checking out the intense craftsmanship of some DIY operations on the main floor, shoe-making, hand-tailoring, and beer-brewing not withheld. Check out our wrap up video below and click through to some of our favorite posts, in case you’re just tuning in.
Want to look a bit glamorous and street tough? Try Anna’s look by accessorizing with just the right amount of studs, spikes and gems. Wearing the perfect pair of dark wash skinny jeans and killer boots doesn’t hurt either!
