Japanese brand Kapital mixes Japanese textiles with a distinctly Western styling sensibility, using detailed craftsmanship and innovative treatments, coming out on top with appeal to a huge range of consumers and denim die-hards alike (have a look at their range of denim here). Titled “Surf Cowboys”, the new lookbook opens with an image of a denim patchwork mermaid and branches into a layered, colorful ensemble set, photographed by the sea. Creative knits and outerwear have a hand-made feel, complimenting separates that blend into the lifestyles of the working, rugged man and the trendy, urban record collector just as seamlessly.

When looking for great, easy fashion, you don’t have to go any farther than Brooklyn. That’s why we’ve rounded up these options for you to steal this Brooklyn flea market shopper’s style to make it your own. This laid-back weekend look is all you need to for those brisk fall days, when a real jacket is still not needed but warmth is. We mean really–how absolutely cozy does that sweater look? The combination of it with the bright red fringe scarf and distressed skinny jeans create the perfect balance of comfort and fun. We also love how the oversized sweater compliments her fitted jeans and tall black boots. Topping it all off with the chic floppy sun hat is the perfect accessory to not overwhelm the outfit, but rather make it completely put together.

Nudie Jeans Co. and Atrium NYC have announced an exciting collaborative release that hits the retail floor December 1st: a special edition of the Grim Tim jean. With a distinctive saturated green thread running through its back pocket (where their trademark orange thread typically runs), these jeans are made from an exclusive Italian-crafted slim fit organic denim dubbed Big Apple Dry Organic. And that green thread? It isn’t just a fashion statement. It pays tribute to Nudie’s dedication to the environment, for which they’ve gained global credibility (and awards). This first collaborative effort celebrates the partnership between Nudie and Atrium, and will be available for purchase exclusively at Atrium (644 Broadway, NYC) and Atrium online.

The fashion forecast for Spring-Summer 2012 is definitely colorful, and AG Jeans has rushed ahead of the gate with their very wearable Pre-Spring collection of Neon Stilt jeans ($214) to steal the spotlight and give brands like J Brand x Christopher Kane a run for their money. The rich saturation and bright colors emanating from these skinny jeans (Neon Orange, Neon Lime, Highlight Blue and Neon Pink) are sure to be the It Jean of the season. And just when we thought Spring was just for pastel jeans!

1. Rawr Denim posted an awesome, in-depth look into the significance of hand-dyed natural indigo denim, from the Indigofera plant to the labor-intensive hand-dipping process. Check out this video from the post below, of Japanese Momotaro hand-dyed indigo jeans:
Don’t worry if you can’t understand Japanese—you still get to watch the process.
2. Check out this showroom preview of Wrangler Denim for spring 2012—they’re keeping it mostly classic with a range of blue jeans and some cute fashion pieces thrown in, like a light wash denim jumpsuit.
3. Tenue de Nîmes featured The Ladbroke Grove slim tapered jeans by Tellason in their holiday gift guide/wishlist. These limited edition jeans (less than 500 have been produced) are tapered from the crotch down and feature a handsome slim fit that bring the right notes of industrial and style-savvy to any guy’s look.
4. We hate to toot our own horn, but we’re going to anyway! If you didn’t check out yesterday’s post about the perfect hues of lipstick to rock with your denim, do so! Renee selected her five favorite lipsticks and five denim picks and we paired them for a look that can’t go wrong. Bust out the makeup bag, ladies!
5. The hand-dyed indigo Chuck Taylor All Star converse shoe now comes in high-top, and they were just released a couple days ago. They’re sure to sell out as quickly as the low tops did. They’re available at Tenue de Nîmes.
“50 pairs of the shoes were dyed by the Manabe family from Okoyama – owners of Japanese denim label Momotaro and the Rampuya dyeing factory. The shoes, each of which is unique and hand-numbered, will be available November 26th at Tenue de Nimes.” (Highsnobiety)

Red denim is the perfect way to transition your wardrobe right into the holiday season, and if you didn’t grab a pair during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday retail holiday, you can still do so! Lauren Conrad was spotted leaving a salon in West Hollywood wearing Joe’s Skinny in Geranium, one of the brand’s Fifty Five Colors, ($158). Whilst, Ellen Pompeo was seen wearing Black Orchid’s Black Jewel Jegging in Cranberry wash, ($127) These two gals styled them just right with their simple long sleeved tees, but for a little more pretty, think a silk blouse metallic blouse and some black wedge heels! How would you style red jeans? Let us know on facebook!

We love Replay for consistently offering a wide range of casual denim standbys: shirts, jackets, jeans, and more. Thankfully, their mid-range men’s line, Maestro, is no different. The Italian label’s spring/summer 2012 collection is filled with relaxed, slouchy jeans that pair perfectly with classic plaid shirts, faded graphic tees, and even light-wash denim shirts. Nothing’s too constricting or confining, which makes for the best for comfortable weekend wear!

There are a lot of denim bags and totes on the market, some of them ideal for preppy guys, some of them ideal for hipsters strolling Williamsburg… but rarely does a chic denim bag come along that’s an all-around crowd pleaser. Once upon a time, duffle bags were a thing of the ’90s, but like most items ’80s babies called their own in late elementary school, the duffle is back. Enter the Meredith Wendell denim dufflebag, casual enough to drag to the gym and cool enough to carry around all day. Whether you fill it with your ipad and after-hours heels or use it to carry your books to class, this chic accessory will let you haul your stuff without weighing your style down.

Surface To Air‘s spring 2012 collection is overflowing with great denim looks, from a cute fitted pair of dark wash patchwork jean (under a light wash oversized workshirt) to vibrant teal skinnies. Saturated medium-wash denim shorts are paired with patchwork jean jackets, and adorable centerpiece garments like a pleated denim dress and the overall lightwash one piece with black buttons keep the whole set playful and fresh. There are plenty of tailored and semi-sheer separates mixed in to tie the looks together, too. We’re digging it for spring fashion that we can wear to work, or hanging out on the weekends.
