The great thing about the Uniqlo 2011-2012 Fall Winter Women’s Lookbook is the coloring: rich shades that will make you pop no matter how drab the upcoming weather chooses to be. From the classic blue wash to autumn colors like champagne and apricot, these skinny jeans are easy to fall in love with. For us though, the cargo skinny jean adds that bit of detail that makes the buy really worth it. Uniqlo definitely encourages layering for next season, which is always a good way to keep warm and stylish…especially when rocking those badass (but not cold-weather friendly!) sheer tights. The trick that they reveal here, is to keep the top half somewhat structured–wear a fitted top, add in a belt, or accessorize with a scarf & you will avoid that blob-like look that can be (unfortunately) easy to fall into when layering.

Our obsession with boho chic trends has yet to suffice for us to slow down, which makes it hard for us to focus our attention on another emerging trends, (A love affair you say? Why yes, it certainly is!) So when we found this very cool post about fringe bags the urge to share it with you guys was almost insatiable. Point blank, the reason we love fringe bags: they’re cool, you can dress them up or down and as we approach fall they compliment denim very well. Not just “hippie chic” these bags can be worn in a multitude of ways and after all who doesn’t love versatility?

Even though our favorite season is coming to a close, there’s comfort in the rampant summer sales on last month’s must-haves. Today’s find? An adorable ‘Winnie’ romper by Motel from Nasty Gal—formerly $78, now $54.60. We can’t read the name without imagining Winnie from The Wonder Years sporting it with her cute blunt-cut bangs (we have to imagine this was taken into consideration with the model’s ‘do as well). Pair this denim one-piece with platforms and a pair of vintage frames or wear it with tights this fall for a look that draws on childhood innocence and urban appeal alike!

If you’ve ever shopped at Target, then you know they’ve really gotten deep into making jeans part of their standard merchandise offerings (remember William Rast for Target?). And to further push that agenda, they enlisted a “music teacher” to tell parents and kids—via a quirky synth-pop serenade—what they need in order to look good for back to school. It’s essentially a commercial on what you can buy at Target, but denim is the not-so-subtle suggestion. What’s also interesting is how spot-on that this music teacher reminds some of us here at Denim Therapy of a certain 9th-grade journalism teacher.

Vanessa Hudgens hides her new chopped locks underneath a beanie (with some light exposure) as she heads to a barbecue but she had no problem showing of her legs in distressed One Teaspoon Hawk High Waist Denim Shorts! She paired them with Love Heals Mountain necklace in dark brown leather and Blu Moon Kimono jacket (recall our kimono robe obsession from yesterday?). She mixed evening with daytime by matching this sexy black bandaeu top with the airy kimono robe and some shades. Perfect outfit to chill with your friends and catch some sun in these last few days of summer…

After taking a look at the Vince. fall 2011 lookbook, we can officially say we are ready to take on the colder weather. The soft knits and warm color palette make us long for the days when there is that brisk feeling in the air, because let’s face it, turtlenecks and the NYC summer heat just don’t mix. Vince is showing a great silhouette of baggy on top & slim on the bottom that will be easy for many to copy, but beware–that crop leg skinny jean can be a hard look to master, so for a more guaranteed flattering option, go for the skinny ankle jeans which will create a longer leg. We really love the way that Vince. transitions the colored denim trend into fall with earthy tones, that to be truthful, are easier to pair a top with than this season’s neons and pastels. With stretch denim ensuring a comfortable fit, these jeans definitely take a top spot on our wish list! (And we know it’s not denim, but that leather boat neck dress? Yes please!)

LeAnn Rimes arrives at LAX in time to celebrate her 29th birthday… remember when she was a little cream puff winning country music awards? She looked pleased as punch in wearing a piece from the debut collection of Rachel Zoe—the ‘Frankie’ peasant blouse. Pink and grey is a great color combo, especially for blondies likes Stephanie Pratt. She was seen out and about in LA wearing Siwy Denim Camilla Cut-Off Shorts in Fall In Love wash. The former “Hills” star looked totally casual and California-cool in her boyfriend style Wildfox sweatshirt and the frayed edge jean shorts. We really like the retro specs along with the boho fringed shoulder bag. Coke in hand and a snack in the bag is what keeps her going, and going good!

We’ll be honest, we wear denim cut-off’s all year round. With a cute pair of tights and some fresh kicks, you have no excuse to push your jean shorts into a “summer” box and stuff them under your bed. But it’s true that there’s a certain magic that comes with the season of Daisy Duke‘s, and while there are still a few humid, sunny days left in the August-to-September transition, it’s a good idea to get the most out of them. We’ve put together three outfits we adore for some summer denim inspiration. Go forth, and wear denim shorts!
