Belén Rodriguez For Miss Sixty S/S 2011 Campaign


Miss Sixty enlist once again the sexy and charismatic Bel?n Rodriguez for their print and television spring summer 2011 campaign. We absolutely adore these stills from the TV commercial and with a catch phrase like “Me…Me… Miss Sixty” to go along with the fun and flirty feel of it all how could you not think its a hit? Not to mention she looks utterly gorgeous in Miss Sixty Jeans!  The commercial has already hit most of Italy’s popular television networks, and though we wish it would hit state side chances are it wont hit the air waves on this side of the pond. But don’t fret, you can catch it on the Miss Sixty online zine—you’re gonna love it, promise!

Desigual Denim For Guys & Facebook Sale Campaign


After fawning over the uber-creative denim dresses & skirts in the newest Desigual collection, we had to take a minute to get amped about the likewise norm-challenging design of the men’s denim items in the line. Check out these destroyed jeans with a calculated wash/stain and the denim-over-denim jeans at right (this adds a new level of confusion to anyone who lets their pants hang down around their behind). While these styles are specific to a certain fun-loving customer, we sure love seeing something a bit different come down the runway.

You can check out some more of the guy’s line in this editorial we spotted on the Desigual facebook page—click through to view it full size. They’re also running a cool spring sale campaign right now where you can vote for your favorite item by “liking” the image in the men’s and women’s collections. The item with the most likes will be marked down 15%. Get on it!

Amber Heard for Guess Fall 2011 Campaign


Guess?, inc., just announced the new poster girl for its Fall 2011 campaign, and it’s rising talent Amber Heard. You may know her from “Pineapple Express” and “Zombieland.”  She will next star in “The Rum Diary” opposite Johnny Depp and Aaron Eckhart and is currently in production on the NBC pilot, “Playboy.”  “We are thrilled to have signed Amber Heard for the GUESS Fall 2011 advertising campaign,” says Paul Marciano, Chief Executive Officer and Creative Director for Guess?, Inc.  “Amber embodies the essence of the true GUESS girl with her natural beauty and classic all-American good looks.   The campaign, which was shot by Ellen Von Unwerth, is sure to become a classic that will continue to define what the GUESS brand stands for.”

Arnsdorf Available to USA & The Tremors Collection


U.S. fans of Australian fashion label Arnsdorf can rejoice! The brand landed stateside last month with e-commerce options for the U.S. of A. We’re also stoked about Arnsdorf’s newest Tremors collection. In contrast to their last collection (characterized by geometric construction and Lewis Carrollian aesthetics), Tremors is a divergent omnibus of fluid lines and color blocks. While it contains hints of its geometric predecessor, the look is fresh. We love the mix of standard hues and colored denim, like the yummy lavenders and mint greens (we could seriously eat these like ice cream bars).  Here’s to more color options for seasons to come!

Alexa Chung For Madewell (& Her Styling Tips)


Fashion It-Girl Alexa Chung is officially collaborating with Madewell, and we’re all holding our breath to see (and shop) the newest collection of must-have items from this classic-cool line and one of our style icons (get on their mailing list to keep up to date on the launch). For now we’ve got this stylin’ photo shoot to muse over and get a little inspiration from. Alexa was given five Madewell classic items and styled them with pieces from her own closet, so you can see how she really gets down with denim.

Denim Therapy: Lets start from the beginning.  What inspired you to get this brand off the ground?

Rue De Jeans: Ever since I was a child, I had a strong passion for Fashion. Having a fashionista mom (former Miss Korea) definitely inspired and influenced me. RUE was created from my own experience as an international traveler. On a flight heading from Shanghai to LA, I conceptualized a trendy piece of denim with extra comfort, made from premium textile. After 8 months of trial period, RUE finally came out, based on finest quality of fabric and the best fit (that molds and shapes all body figures)!

DT: How do you differentiate yourself from the hundreds of popular denim brands afloat right now?

RDJ: Top known brands like Seven, Diesel, J Brand… we have all of their strengths. We’ve got good prices and comfortable jeans like Seven, super-trendy items like Diesel, and flawless fit like J Brand.

On top of this, we got this patented design technology on the waistline to set us apart. This patented discreet logo gives two inches of extra room and comfort. We even blind tested using 10 known denim brands with 10 different body types to ensure this was the best fitting jean we could create.  We also offer top quality Italian and Japanese fabrics such as candiani, kurabo, kaihara, and selvage with detail-oriented designer top stitching and attention to detail. We would consider our denim as art work.

DT: Do you have any pre-designing rituals?

RDJ: Travel. Lots of travel visiting many different places.
