Indonesian denim brand Easton is celebrating one year on the market as of March 23rd, and they’re hauling out intense discounts to celebrate. Their self-admitted unexpected success might be attributed to their keeping in mind “the sacred value of wearing jeans”, but right now buzz is all about an inventory of men’s denim as low as $30 per pair (IDR.245,000.00). We love the Headstock dark blue wash skinny fit in an organic cotton/spandex blend. Stocks are draining pretty fast, so jump on it!

For 6 months, Gordon and Renee from Denim Therapy are wearing raw denim jeans everyday, and documenting their experience on Tumblr. Every Friday you can follow their progression here. This was week 3 (see last weeks article here).
Renee (jeans pictured above): I was forced to experiment with spot cleaning this week. Between taking out-of-town guests out to eat and March Madness, my Jean Shop jeans fell victim to a few unfortunate food spills. I hesitantly used water, a wash cloth, and a the tiniest dab of detergent to scrub at the spots.
Even though some indigo came off on my washcloth, there was no discoloration after the areas had dried like I had feared. After 3 weeks, I am starting to see some minor color fading on the corners of the back pockets and behind the knees.
Gordon (jeans pictured above): On Wednesday I fell, spread eagle, right at the sidewalk corner of 39th and 8th, no one else knew why I took such a huge fall, but I knew it was because of my shoe laces. I was mostly afraid that my jeans had ripped. They had not, but there is a small mark on my left knee to forever remind me of that hellacious fall.
Other news for my Nudies: there is some new whiskering along the upper inner thighs which reminds me of puberty, the honey combs behind the knees and the ankle bunching are getting better and better, and my wallet has made its mark on the back pocket.
Don’t forget to check out our Tumblr everyday to see how we’re wearing our jeans, and we’ll see you right here on the DT blog next Friday!

Railcar Fine Goods, a privately-owned premium denim and workwear brand from Los Angeles, has quietly launched their new women’s selvedge line, consisting of 13.5-ounce Cone Mills red line selvedge denim. The new “Viper” fit is a skinny five-pocket jean made from raw, un-treated denim. When Denim Therapy first interviewed Railcar’s founder Steven Dang in June 2010, the women’s Viper Fit prototype was already in the experimental stage. We are excited about this particular jean because not only is selvedge present on the outseam (as a given), the wearer will have two other locations to show it off: the coin pocket and in the fly (oh my!). Attention to fit was not spared, as Dang noted that there is no rear waistband gaping.
For the moment, pre-orders are being taken for the Viper Fit jeans, and will be ready from one week of order. Check out Railcar Fine Goods online for more information.

We love a good pearl-encrusted denim suit. Or at least, we love looking at it on a model! Elisa Sednaoui is the star of this Elle Italia editorial from February ’11, “Easy Rock”. It features big dog designer brands and a carefree spring attitude. Her looks include a completely illogical (but definitely fun) denim-on-denim ensemble covered in pearls, super-short cut-offs, cuffed light-wash straight leg jeans and all the styling inspiration you need to break free this spring. We’re sold.
