Current/Elliott’s Spring Lookbook Is A Retro Delicacy

Designing a collection with flawless  retro edge wasn’t enough for Current/Elliott. To feed our nostalgic cravings for all things vintage, they put together a spring lookbook that wraps up the aura of ’50s pin-up charm deliciously. We are absolutely crazy about the hot red skinny jeans. And the  high waisted, frayed denim shorts. We don’t know about you, but we’re prepping our front-lawn lounging attire and cat-eye liner as you read this.

For more images from the lookbook go to the Current/Elliott website.

Denim Dose: News & Links

News, links, sales, and everything else we couldn’t help but share. What’s happening (and totally not happening) in the world of denim now. Got a tip you think we should include? Email us!

1. Refinery29 and Madewell are teaming up for a denim shopping party tomorrow night that can only be described as pure rock’n’roll. Free drinks, great music, the R29 editors on hand to style whatever you buy, and 20% off Madewell jeans. See you there!

2. Got a few minutes to kill? Watch Ellen Degeneres‘ highly amusing remarks on Levi’s new Ex-Girlfriend jeans in this video clip of her show.

3. DIESEL is having a sale on their Fall/Winter line to make room for their new arrivals, which you can buy now online. Step lively, the Fall/Winter sale ends February 28th.

4. We stumbled across these floral-printed jeans at Forever21 this morning and our mouse has been hovering over “add to cart” all day. Nothing “says spring has arrived!” (or “We wish spring would arrive”) like a pair of floral printed skinnies, and at less than $30, why not?

5. We can’t get over the gorgeous AY Not Dead Fall 2011 campaign, featuring Dree Hemingway and a nice dose of delicious denim. It was shot by Sebastian Faena and we want high res prints framed in the office.

Moussy Spring Lookbook Is A Breath of Fresh Air

The vintage-filtered outdoor shots of gorgeous denim outfits will have you craving for sunshine the moment you click. Denim cut-off shorts and wide-leg jeans are mixed with headbands and cowboy fringe amidst palm trees and wood paneled interiors. Lindsey Wixson In Moussy’s Spring Campaign

Lindsey Wixson dons head to toe denim for the Moussy spring campaign, and while this doesn’t necessarily make us croon like the Abbey Lee Kershaw Moussy campaign did, we think this one is pretty smokin’ too. It features a wide-collar denim jacket with oversized pockets and an easy-to-accomplish cinched-waist look, wide-leg pants, and an adorable jumper.

We Love The Mister Freedom Striped Denim Tote

Lug your ipad and affects around in this new Mister Freedom denim tote, made with 100% cotton denim twill in a navy-esque blue and white stripe. If it looks rather French, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The design for this tote was inspired by the late 1800’s French Military shoulder bag. You don’t have to go to war, but you can look just as cool a  utility-rigged soldier!

At 13” x 10.5” x 3”, there’s plenty of room to carry the things you need all day, whether your gadgets are all-in-one or you travel like a walking office. Grab your own at Mister Freedom for $129.95.

Johan Lindeberg Debuts BLK DNM On Film

Utilizing an alternative medium to debut his new BLK DNM collection, famed Swedish fashion designer Johan Lindeberg (of J. Lindeberg) has produced a short film to captivate his fashion audience.  You may recall Lindeberg also made headlines several years back with his ad campaigns featuring the likes of Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode and actress Juliette Lewis.  Directed by Danish filmmaker Martin De Thurah, “Short Film 1” presents the BLK DNM collection in a mesmerizing and surreal cinematic package, complete with a soundtrack and enough emotion to bring a sort of Street Style realism (not cinema verit?) which is in conflict with fantasy-ridden runway shows walked by models in restrained emotion.  Showcased are BLK DNM’s edgy, downtown cool that sparks a bit of elegant rebellion: zippered leather jackets, square-shouldered blazers and high-rise stretch jeans for women.    Lots of leather jacket options, trousers and a straight leg and slim fit jean for men.  Also look for denim shirts.

Watch BLK DNM’s short film at NOWNESS.  Get semi-instant gratification: you can shop BLK DNM now!
