As I mentioned previously, there’s so much to offer in white, even online, that it’ll make your head spin. However, the offerings from Lanvin x Acne has sent my heart aflutter. Gorgeous. Tasteful. Classic. Haute. That’s what I call statement pieces. Oh, can my wallet stand it? Has white denim ever been this stimulating to all my senses? I think I’m going to go cry now.

Yes, we can finally wear white jeans like crazy, especially since it’s after Memorial Day. For many social rebels out there, wearing white at the first hint of summer heat was a good enough excuse. Don’t have any white denim in your closet? Perhaps you’re a bit unsure how to pair white jeans with summer’s hottest trends and accessories? I understand. Coming from a gal who had way too many black clothes in the closet, it can be scary to get out of your comfort zone.

Take a look at what’s out right now. Many fashion labels are cautiously rolling out a couple of white denim statement pieces that anybody can add to their jeans closet. Do you like super skinny jeans? Are you a petite height? Do you want to find an office to evening pair of white denim trousers? Or maybe you want something more rocked out and pool party friendly? No worries. There are so many styles available now — even online — it will make your head spin. For summer, white denim will go fabulously with the season’s neon trend. Look for tops that are accented with neon stripes or trim. Just don’t end up wearing something that makes you look like a school crossing guard. Not into neon? Your safe bet would be tan leather platform shoes or airy, black sandals. White shoes are okay, too. Just be sure to break up your white a bit. What’s the point in wearing white denim jeans if you’re going to look like a Fashionista moonlighting as a painter? Dress to get noticed!

What’s also great about white denim is, you can extend the wear beyond the summer. Wearing white jeans in the fall is absolutely acceptable. I’m planning on wearing my white jeans into the fall, when I get into a genteel mood to meet friends for afternoon tea or for a walk through some botanical gardens. As a Gemini, I do have my frisky, edgy side, so I’ll need my rocker wannabe jeans that will go with a leather jacket or kick-your-face-in boots. White goes with any colorful top; and white jeans go well with more mellow fall tones, such as tan, gray, and even black. It’s all in your attitude baby!

Forget about those purported growth serums. I’m not talking about wearing vertical stripes or major leg-lengthening surgery. With a few minor style adjustments, anybody can appear taller (and often slimmer in the process) in just minutes. What am I talking about are this summer’s most coveted denim cuts and unexpected looks. Dress like a superstar or a supermodel! Petite powerhouses like Natalie Portman (about 5′ 3″) and Kate Moss (who is only about 5′ 6″) have looked statuesque with a few signature tricks.

Try your hand at tapered, ankle length or capri jeans. Don’t get them too high-waisted, especially if you have a short torso. Let your tops and jackets do the work for you. Definitely work the Boyfriend jean either cuffed or rolled up past the ankles, showing off very high heels or platform shoes. With summer heat, give the ??ber mini skirt or cut-off shorts a shot. I like the A.P.C. raw denim Mini Skirt. It has a refined yet barely there mini look that does the trick. Pair your jeans with short, cropped jackets. Make sure the jacket is cut above your hipbone. All these style tips creates the illusion that your legs are longer.
If you have long hair, pile it up high in a bundle or high ponytail. If you’re considering getting a haircut, make sure the style shows off your neck. By exposing your neck, you also create the illusion that you are taller, like a swan gracefully gliding around town. And, walk confidently, with shoulders back and your head held high. Cut looking down at your iPhone to a minimum. Don’t text and walk. Your posture and your new-found taller self will thank me for it.

Evisu, the high-end Japanese denim label, is having an incredible on-line sale on selected jeans and apparel for the whole family. Go shopping!
…and read all about current news on Evisu below posted by WWD.
Evisu Taps Morrison as CEO
From WWD ISSUE 05/26/2009
Two months after exiting Earnest Sewn, Scott Morrison is back in the denim game as the newly appointed global chief executive officer of Evisu. In his new role, Morrison will oversee the denim and sportswear maker in all markets except Japan, where the brand was founded and is organized under a separate company. ???This is a completely unique and different challenge for me, in that I??™m taking on an established brand rather than launching something new,??? said Morrison, who was a co-founder of Paper Denim & Cloth in 1999 and Earnest Sewn in 2004.
At Evisu, Morrison faces the task of energizing a company that was one of the earliest innovators in the premium denim field when it launched in 1991, but which has muddled its brand message over the years and failed to grow a business of any significant size in the U.S. ???I think the opportunity is to dial back to our iconic heritage, when it was really about the denim,??? said Morrison. ???The product has become too heavily branded and it??™s sort of taken on a life of its own as a streetwear-identified label. I??™d like to see it become a little more contemporary, worldly, and perhaps, European.??? Evisu posted sales of about $30 million at wholesale outside of Japan, with less than $4 million of that in the U.S. There are 19 freestanding stores outside of Japan, with none in the U.S. Evisu signed a lease to open a SoHo flagship in 2006, but those plans never materialized.

Anybody hitting the Indy 500 in Indianapolis on Sunday? If you are, then be sure to look out for Vision Racing‘s #21: the William Rast/IZOD race car. I’d have to say, the car already looks smokin’ and very cool. I hear it’s supposed to look different than what you see in the promo poster pictured above. If you’re not hitting the races, then be sure to rush over to Nordstrom in Indianapolis on Saturday, May 23, because William Rast-sponsored race car drivers Ryan Hunter-Reay (who has worn William Rast jeans for quite some time) and Ed Carpenter will make an appearance between 2:45 to 3:45. And why not? You’ll receive a free William Rast racing team hat for your efforts. It’ll make denim lovers envious of your unique William Rast-branded accessory.
If you’re not going to be anywhere near Indianapolis, then be sure to catch the racing action on ABC this Sunday. As an avid Indy 500 watcher — not! — I didn’t even know William Rast has branded itself on a race car, let alone has been broken in at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. If there’s any reason to reel in more Indy 500 watchers (and get more men to shop at Nordstrom), then this is a good way of doing it.
Saturday, May 23 (2:45-3:45 p.m.)
Savvy Department, Floor Two

How cool is that? A denim brand has their own magazine. You can pick up a copy at many book stores and newsstands, but if you’re having trouble finding a copy, which retails at US$10, you can also purchase it online or subscribe at an annual rate of US$16. Read more about Acne Paper here…
If there ever floated around a myth that New York City is where the people are fashionable and the apartments are like closets, then last night’s Acne Paper launch party confirmed it as fact. True, it was held at the Acne studio space in SoHo rather than somebody’s house, but the atmosphere was decidedly intimate and homey: The Opening Ceremony kids hugged like family, the art gallery curators mixed and mingled and air-kissed, and everybody crowded around and squeezed past each other to see the latest issue of Acne Paper, which had a steamy, erotic slant.
